Jamstik is back on Kickstarter with the release of its most accessible model yet, the Jamstik Core MIDI Guitar. Priced at $479 for early backers, the Core blends the functionality of a class-compliant MIDI controller with the feel and playability of a standard electric guitar.

The campaign went live on August 19 at 7AM ET, and within hours had already gained strong traction. Backers can expect a streamlined design that plugs directly into computers, phones, and hardware gear without the need for Bluetooth or batteries.

What Makes the Jamstik Core Different

The Jamstik Core takes the same MIDI tracking technology found in the company’s higher-end instruments and packages it into a straightforward plug-and-play format. With onboard processing, a hexaphonic MIDI pickup, and USB-C connectivity, the Core removes the need for bulky processors or unreliable wireless setups.

On the analog side, it’s a 22-fret electric guitar with a standard 1/4″ output for amps, pedals, or interfaces. On the digital side, it can control DAWs, plugins, and notation software, while a TRS-MIDI output makes it easy to hook up to analog synths or hardware samplers. Jamstik also includes its Creator software, which gives players control over sensitivity, tuning, and pitch-bend settings.

The goal here is clear: make MIDI guitar technology affordable and accessible without stripping away performance or responsiveness. As Jamstik’s CEO Ed Cannon put it, the company wants tech to “make music more accessible—not more complicated or expensive”.

Proven Track Record and Early Backer Pricing

This is not Jamstik’s first crowdfunding campaign. The brand has a long history of using Kickstarter and Indiegogo to bring products to market, with previous launches like the Jamstik+ raising over $800K in 2015 and the Jamstik Studio pulling in $650K in 2018. That history gives potential backers confidence that the Core will be delivered as promised.

Pricing starts at $479 for early adopters, with additional tiers at $499 and $529 before eventually reaching the $679 MSRP. Global shipping is included, and Jamstik is offering multiple colorways ranging from Midnight Black and Glacier White to Sky Blue, Lilac Purple, Forest Green, and Red Coral. Left-handed models will be available as well.

Final Thoughts

For guitarists who want to bridge the gap between analog playing and digital production, the Jamstik Core looks like one of the most practical options released to date. It strips away the clutter of external processors, battery packs, and wireless pairing, leaving a streamlined USB-C connection and MIDI-ready setup.

Kickstarter backers have the chance to lock in the Core at launch pricing while supporting a company that has consistently delivered on past campaigns. With the Jamstik Core, Zivix is making a serious play for producers, educators, and players who want hybrid flexibility at a price point that finally makes sense.
