The Wild Violets – Sunrise (Dr Packer Remix) [The Disco Express]

While London-based band The Wild Violets may look like a bunch of fresh-faced college kids starting a folk group, don’t let that fool you because they are taking the Disco world by storm! With an early assist by Dr Packer on the remix for “Sunrise”, this band is ready for prime time! Check out their excellent new ‘Til The Sunrise EP on The Disco Express!

AC Soul Symphony – I Want To See You Dance (Art Of Tones Remix) [Z Records]

Just when you thought you wouldn’t hear more from Dave Lee‘s AC Soul Symphony, along comes an incredibly catchy remix of “I Want To See You Dance” by the in-demand producer of the moment, Art Of Tones. This version adds a deep layer of funky bass over the gorgeous strings of the original version, and begs Disco DJs to put this track back into rotation! Don’t miss your chance to pick up a copy on Z Records!

Suki Soul feat. Northern Funk Collective – Superlovin (OPOLOPO Remix) [Midnight Riot Records]

Sara Larder (Suki Soul) keeps proving she is one of the hardest-working singer/producers in the biz! OPOLOPO is on board for the remix of this sexy, summer-ready banger. Larder’s vocals are extra soulful on “Superlovin” and show just how flexible her vocals can be, this time showcasing a more restrained approach while still bringing all of the necessary funk!

Jay Caruso & Davide L’Abbate – Affirmation (Original Mix) (Mannix/Daffia Records]

The 40th release on Mannix Kling’s Daffia Records is an incredibly smooth cover of the George Benson classic “Affirmation”, by the gifted team of Jay Caruso and guitar god Davide L’Abbate. This updated version takes the original’s best elements while adding modern shimmering Disco production. If this doesn’t make you want to be in or around water, I don’t know what will!

Saison & Amy Douglas – Dare Myself [Future Disco]

Saison isn’t going to rest on their Deep House roots and partnering with the ever-evolving vocalist Amy Douglas is a stroke of genius! “Dare Myself” is not only a challenge to the artists to embrace change but a message to the listeners of this Nu-Disco jam to open their hearts and minds to love. I think you will be singing along to this track all season long!

Shabi – Surf The Funk [Lisztomania Records]

Berlin-based DJ/Producer Shabi is flexing his Disco muscles on “Surf The Funk”, a track that is like a happy trip down memory lane to a time when things were simple and happy. Shabi is an accomplished bassist and the funky bass is the driving factor of this breezy track.

Empire Of The Sun – Music On The Radio [EMI Recorded Music Australia Pty Ltd]

Empire Of The Sun dropped “Music On the Radio” this month, the second teaser track from their upcoming album Ask That God. I think the upbeat summer vibe of this Nu-disco track could make it a real contender for song of the summer!

HP Vince – Rhythm Of The Night [Tropical Disco Records]

“Rhythm Of The Night” is a terrific reminder of why HP Vince has been on top of the Disco charts so many times over the last few years. The strings, horns, and bass come together perfectly to create a genuine Disco classic. While listening to this summer gem, you will forget if it’s 1978 or 2024!

Young Pulse – Shake Your Body Down (Disco Mix) [Funky French League]

Just in time for your next shindig is Young Pulse‘s party-starting track “Shake Your Body Down”. There are two very different mixes of this track on the EP, the Disco Mix and the Beat Street Mix. I am focusing on the Disco mix here, which has the feel of early 80s Disco, but I encourage you to check out the Beat Street Mix if you want to be transported to a 1984 breakdancing competition! Both are super fun and you can find the EP here.

Róisín Murphy – The House (System Olympia Remix) [Mickey Murphy’s Daughter]

Róisín Murphy is still touring her last album Hit Parade, and it makes sense to release a remix collection of five album tracks to complement the package. The System Olympia remix of “The House” is an electro/nu-disco step onto the dancefloor compared to the eclectic original version. The whole EP is typical of Murphy in that no two songs are alike, and that’s how she likes it!

Disco N Fusion – I Can’t Do It [Disco Freak Records]

Rafa Varela has been producing songs as Disco N Fusion for a couple of years, and I think “I Can’t Do It” may be his finest track yet, using the inarguably sexy lyrics of the late, great Barry White and wrapping them in the warm blanket of Disco. The combination is very sultry, so get ready to do some late-night grooving to this one!

Da Lukas – Supergood [Groove Culture]

Da Lukas‘s “Supergood” is indeed, super good! There are plenty of old-school funk and soul vibes on this track to infuse life into any party! Da Lukas is certainly a veteran in the modern Disco scene and you can always count on quality songs from this artist!

Roosevelt – Automatic [Counter Records]

Eight months after Roosevelt’s last full-length LP Embrace, Marius Lauber is back with a new single “Automatic“. This bodes well for the Roosevelt fans out there, as it seems there won’t be a long wait between future releases. “Automatic” is a summer-ready Nu-Disco track that is mellow and upbeat, and most of all, hopeful.

Paco Versailles – Past Life [DistroKid]

Paco Versailles has released excellent Yacht/Nu-Disco music for several years, but “Past Life” seems to harken back to its early releases. The feeling is a breezy summer day encapsulated in just under four minutes. The combination of their signature flamenco-style guitars and synths gives the track a modern sound that will keep you coming back for more!

D.C. LaRue – Hot Jungle Drums & Voodoo Rhythm (Ladies On Mars Extended Remix) [Only Good Vibes Music Ltd]

“Hot Jungle Drums & Voodoo Rhythm” is the perfect D.C. LaRue track for Ladies On Mars to remix. Ladies On Mars has an ideal grasp of the fun and kitschy elements that have always been part of Disco culture. The modern production techniques make this classic song sound ageless and dancefloor-ready, plus anytime you get to remix a Disco legend like D.C. LaRue, you say yes!
