Following a sold out European tour, singer/songwriter and multi instrumentalist Monolink (Steffen Linck) made his way across the US making 14 stops in support of his 3rd artist album The Beauty of it All. Along the way, he stopped off in some major venues including the Brooklyn Paramount in New York, The Wiltern in Los Angeles, and The Warfield in San Francisco. But on March 5th, 2026, I was lucky to be in attendance for his second to last show of the tour at the iconic Showbox in Seattle, WA. There are nights at a venue for a concert where you go expecting a good time and leave having experienced something closer to a ritual. Monolink delivered exactly that.
From the opening moments of the sold out show, it was clear this wasn’t a typical night out. Armed with live vocals, guitar, keyboard, and synthesizer, Monolink built an immersive sonic world, layered with textures and tones which were beautifully constructed, weaving through his back catalog and drawing generously from his 3rd artist album, The Beauty of It All.

His performance felt more like unfolding narratives, combining high-energy moments with introspective, cinematic pauses. Enhanced by a new stage design created in collaboration with Vita Motus and Do LaB, the show reflected his organic and analog-driven style.
Highlights came in many forms. Hearing “Father Ocean” and Artbat’s remix of “Return to Oz” in a live setting was something genuinely special. “Beacon,” one of the standout new tracks from The Beauty of It All, landed with real weight in the room. What made the arc of the set so satisfying was the way it moved between worlds, drifting through deep, hypnotic passages one moment and surging into something closer to a full nightclub experience the next. It never felt jarring or forced.
But what separated the evening from a mere performance was Monolink’s willingness to let the crowd in. Between songs, he shared stories from his travels, across the United States and beyond, painting a portrait of an artist who collects human experiences as much as he does melodies.

One moment late in the set stood out above the rest: pausing before a love song he’d written early in his career, Monolink asked everyone in the room to turn to whoever they’d come with and offer a hug, and then to turn to a stranger and do the same.
The room obliged. And something shifted.
It’s a rare thing to watch an artist pour that much of themselves into a live show, and rarer still to feel an entire room of strangers draw closer together because of it. Monolink managed both.
If you haven’t yet spent time with The Beauty of It All, consider this your nudge. It is his most personal work to date. Exploring themes of impermanence, beauty, and human connection, the album showcases a rich mix of sounds and rhythms. It’s a record with range, warmth, and something genuine to say, much like the man who made it.
