Output has partnered with Los Angeles Academy for Artists and Music Production (LAAMP) to give two emerging producers the chance to win full-tuition scholarships valued at $39,900 each. The contest is open to producers and songwriters ready to take their music to the next level, with submissions closing on August 20.

Applicants simply need to submit their strongest finished track to Output’s Producer Challenge. Two winners will be announced on August 25, receiving full tuition to LAAMP’s intensive one-year production and songwriting program in Santa Monica, California.

This program has built a reputation for pairing creative talent with world-class mentors while giving students the chance to work in a professional studio every day. Instead of sitting in a classroom, students collaborate on music from day one, learning directly from top-level producers, writers, and industry professionals.

Inside LAAMP’s Yearlong Program

LAAMP is designed to immerse students in every part of the creative process. Participants work out of state-of-the-art recording studios, teaming up with other selected songwriters and producers. This approach gives students a practical understanding of how professional records are made, while also helping them build a network of collaborators.

In addition to daily studio sessions, the program offers masterclasses, live rehearsals, and artist development workshops. Students learn not only how to refine their skills but also how to navigate the business side of music. The goal is to prepare graduates with both the technical knowledge and industry awareness needed to succeed.

The scholarship winners will join a community built around collaboration and mentorship, guided by a team of music creators who have worked at the highest levels of the industry. For many, it’s an opportunity to skip years of trial and error and instead focus on learning in a real-world environment built for creative growth.

How to Enter and Key Dates

To enter, aspiring producers must submit their best track through Output’s Producer Challenge page by August 20. The submission should represent a finished piece of work that reflects their skills and potential.

Winners will be announced on August 25, giving them enough time to prepare for the fall start of LAAMP’s program. With only two scholarships available, this contest is a direct path for motivated producers to join a professional music education program without the financial barrier that often comes with top-tier training.
