Two generations of UK club culture collide as Eats Everything sits down with The Sharp Boys to revisit the wild, fearless spirit of Trade — the iconic after-hours that reshaped London nightlife in the ‘90s and beyond.
Hosted at Turnmills in Clerkenwell, Trade was the UK’s first legal after-hours club, opening its doors at 3am to a crowd that didn’t fit in anywhere else. Hedonistic, unapologetically queer, and sonically uncompromising, it became a launchpad for new genres and a haven for the unhinged. From full-throttle techno to twisted hard house, its influence still lingers on dancefloors today.
In this new interview, Eats Everything and The Sharp Boys — both deeply connected to Trade’s legacy — swap stories, pay tribute to the late Tony De Vit, and recall some of the club’s more surreal moments (including Cher getting turned away at the door after demanding VIP treatment).
The link-up arrives alongside Eats Everything’s new remix of My Love Is Deep — originally released in 1995 on the Sharp Boys’ own label and made famous by De Vit at Trade. Eats brings a fresh take with his “Reebeef,” a full-bodied, big-room update that tips its hat to the ‘Sharp Dub’ while locking into a new groove.
