When Serum 2 launched last month, sound designers everywhere immediately locked their doors and started making endless new sounds with it. Additions such as the granular engine, spectral oscillators, and an entirely re-worked sample engine paired with the familiar UI made it easy for those who knew Serum inside and out to start pushing their sound design to another level.

To nobody’s surprise, Bound to Divide of Basic Wavez was one of them. Today, Basic Wavez has dropped their first preset pack for Serum 2: Prophecy Vol. 1, with sounds exclusively designed by the South African sound design master.

In this pack, he’s made extensive use of the sampler engine, resampling analog synths like the Moog Sub 37 and even crafting a piano and xylophone that can be played entirely in Serum. The pack also makes heavy use of the new granular engine and new FX plugins, such as the Bode pitch shifter. He’s also made the most of the four extra macros added in Serum 2; you’ll be able to make huge edits to sounds by simply twisting those little knobs.

As is the case with many of Basic Wavez’s packs, these sounds are mostly tailored to those producing housier genres. But, considering just how easy it is to completely destroy and rebuild sounds in Serum 2, any and all producers could definitely find usage in this pack.

It’s also on sale right now; while listed at 27 Euro, you can grab it at 18.90 Euro for the next 12 days. Definitely pounce on that offer if you’re interested – which you should be!

You can listen to some of the presets and buy the pack here. We’re excited to hear what you make with it, and even more excited to see what else Basic Wavez has in the pipeline.
