Kiviak Instruments has announced the WoFi LE, a new portable sampler that brings the core WoFi workflow into a smaller and lower-cost hardware format. The unit is expected in late 2026 or early 2027, with pricing set at $349 or €299.
The main idea is clear: take the sample-first workflow of the original WoFi and put it into a device aimed at faster writing, portable capture, and hands-on editing. For producers who liked the idea of WoFi but wanted something less expensive and easier to carry, WoFi LE looks like the version built for daily use rather than a fixed studio position.
The device centers on direct sampling. Users can record, chop, and manipulate sounds from the hardware itself, including during performance. That is the part that gives WoFi LE its clearest purpose. It is designed for producers who want to grab audio quickly, reshape it, sequence it, and keep moving without turning the process into a laptop session.

WoFi LE Sampler Keeps The Workflow Fast
WoFi LE uses a rubber keypad that doubles as a playable surface and sequencer, which keeps the hardware focused around touch and timing rather than menu-heavy editing. That kind of design can be useful for producers who want to try ideas quickly, trigger cue points, and rearrange samples without needing a larger controller.
The MicroSD slot adds a practical layer, giving users expandable storage and an easy way to move samples between setups. That may sound basic, though for portable sampling hardware, removable storage can be the difference between using the device often and leaving it at home.
Kiviak is also tying WoFi LE into the mywo.fi companion app, which brings cloud sync, sharing, and sample generation into the workflow. That cloud side gives the hardware a broader role than a closed sampler box. Users can build or manage material away from the device, then bring it into the hardware when they want to work with their hands.
Affordable Hardware Sampling For Portable Producers
The price is a big part of the story. At $349 or €299, WoFi LE lands in a range that feels accessible for producers who want a dedicated sampling device without moving into higher-cost groovebox territory. Kiviak is positioning it as portable, expandable, and focused, which gives the unit a clean place in the market.
The live workflow also feels central. WoFi LE lets users swap sounds, trigger cue points, and experiment in real time, which makes it useful for small live setups, sample-based sketches, and quick arrangement ideas. It appears built around immediacy, which is exactly what portable samplers need to get right.
Kiviak is unveiling the WoFi LE prototype at Superbooth 2026, where visitors can see the device at Booth W325. The full feature set is still coming, so there is room for details to change before release, but the early pitch is easy to understand.
WoFi LE looks like a smart move from Kiviak Instruments. It takes the WoFi concept and makes it smaller, cheaper, and easier to bring into casual writing sessions, live experiments, and sample-heavy production workflows.
