Chase Bliss is using three one-of-a-kind pedals to support What Will I Become?, a documentary centered on trans boyhood, mental health, and the process of becoming yourself in a world that can make that harder than it should be.
The Minneapolis pedal company is raffling hand-painted versions of Onward, Lossy, and Generation Loss, with artwork by Hannah Haugberg. Each winner will receive one pedal, and the raffle ends Friday, July 24, at 9am CT. Chase Bliss says no purchase is necessary, and the company is asking participants either to donate to What Will I Become? or send a short note sharing how they plan to support trans people in their own area.
It is a simple campaign, but the tone feels very Chase Bliss.
This is a company whose pedals have always attracted musicians interested in memory, decay, looping, texture, and emotional edges, and those ideas map naturally onto a documentary built around identity, care, and survival.
The Hand-Painted Chase Bliss Pedals Give the Raffle Its Collector Pull
The raffle includes three pedals: one hand-painted Onward, one hand-painted Lossy, and one hand-painted Generation Loss. All three have a clear place in the Chase Bliss catalog, though the hand-painted treatment changes the object’s meaning.
Generation Loss has long been associated with tape damage, warble, and degraded memory. Lossy introduces digital compression artifacts and reduced fidelity. Onward is more centered on performance and responsive processing. In other words, these are not random pedals pulled from a warehouse shelf. They fit the emotional and sonic language of the campaign.
For producers and pedal-heavy electronic musicians, that connection matters because pedals like these often become part of how people process memory in sound.
