Nacho Varela and Cruz Vittor have continued to build a reputation within the organic house scene. Based in Córdoba, the duo have released music on respected imprints including All Day I Dream, TRYBESof, and The Soundgarden. Their latest track, Bright In The Club, appears on All Day I Dream’s Summer’s End Sampler alongside artists such as mredrollo, Amand, and Nichols+Roark. The release reinforces their connection with Lee Burridge’s label and its global network of melodic house producers.

The Summer’s End Sampler closes the season with twelve carefully produced cuts that balance warmth, rhythm, and atmosphere. Nacho Varela and Cruz Vittor’s contribution focuses on hypnotic vocal layers and a textured low end, resulting in a sound that feels fluid and detailed. Their approach relies on patience, subtle modulation, and tonal balance, showing how careful sound design can carry emotional weight within a restrained arrangement.
In this How It Was Made feature, Nacho Varela and Cruz Vittor share the tools and techniques that shaped Bright In The Club. They detail how plugins such as Spectrasonics Omnisphere, FabFilter Pro-Q3, and the UAD Distressor defined the tone, rhythm, and cohesion of the record. Their process centers on layering, shaping, and refining, revealing how each element was handled to achieve clarity, warmth, and space across the mix.
Vocals and Melodic Stab

At the core of “Bright In The Club” are the vocals and a melodic stab, both crafted from carefully selected samples from free libraries and reshaped to align with our creative vision. The vocals, processed with Soundtoys Little AlterBoy, received subtle pitch and formant adjustments to create a mysterious, emotive tone that perfectly complements the ethereal aesthetic of All Day I Dream. These vocal layers set the mood, drawing listeners into the track’s hypnotic flow.

The melodic stab, also sourced from a sample library, was meticulously edited to become the track’s emotional backbone. We refined its texture and timing to craft a percussive yet melodic element that weaves between rhythm and harmony, giving the track its distinctive character. To anchor the low end, we used Spectrasonics Trilian VIP’s Chapman Stick Slide Down preset for the bass, which brought organic warmth to the mix, perfectly complementing the stab and vocals.

To enhance the track’s atmospheric depth, we turned to Spectrasonics Omnisphere’s Cosmic Arp 14 preset. This added shimmering, evolving textures that introduced subtle tension, enriching the track’s immersive quality without overpowering the core elements. Layered thoughtfully, this effect helped elevate the hypnotic vibe, making it a standout feature in the arrangement. Gentle EQ cuts and light compression ensured these elements blended seamlessly, balancing groove and atmosphere. For producers, experiment with sample manipulation and subtle automation to make your core elements feel dynamic and unique.
FabFilter Pro-Q 3

No studio session is complete without FabFilter Pro-Q 3, an EQ that’s as precise as it is musical. Its intuitive interface and dynamic EQ mode make it ideal for taming frequencies and adding creative sparkle. In our track, Pro-Q 3 was used extensively, particularly on the percussion and vocal layers. We applied subtle cuts around 200–300 Hz to clear up the midrange and added gentle boosts in the highs for airy textures without harshness. To ensure the bass and kick worked in harmony, dynamic EQ around 50–60 Hz kept them balanced, preserving the track’s energy.
For producers, Pro-Q 3 is a go-to tool. Focus on small adjustments to carve out space and let your mix breathe, creating a warm, fluid groove that feels alive.
SSL Channel Strip

The SSL Channel Strip delivers that classic analog console feel, combining punchy EQ, compression, and gating in one streamlined package. We ran our clap and percussion bus through it to add snap and body. A touch of compression tightened the groove, while a slight EQ boost around 5 kHz brought clarity without overshadowing the dreamy pads and reverb tails. This ensured the rhythmic elements cut through while preserving the track’s hypnotic flow.
Pro tip: Use the SSL Channel’s analog-style EQ to enhance transients on claps or shakers. It’s less about surgical precision and more about infusing character into your percussion.
UAD Distressor

The UAD Distressor is a compressor with personality, capable of everything from subtle glue to gritty saturation. We applied it to the drum bus to unify the kick, percussion, and hi-hats, creating a natural, rolling groove. With a moderate ratio and slow release, it added warmth and harmonic richness, making the drums pop—perfect for the captivating vibe of “Bright In The Club.”
For producers, the Distressor is ideal for tying elements together without sacrificing dynamics. Find the sweet spot where everything feels cohesive and vibrant.
Reverb and Saturation

To amplify the track’s spacious feel, Waves H-Reverb provided transparent, characterful depth, preserving the organic texture. For a final touch of warmth, FabFilter Saturn 2 added gentle saturation to the master bus and melodic layers, giving the track an analog-like glow that ties everything together.

Quick Tips for Crafting Organic & Deep House
- Embrace organic percussion—shakers, tablas, or hand drums add soul that synthetic loops cannot replicate.
- Let the bass and percussion interact—it functions as rhythmic movement that drives the groove.
- Incorporate real-world textures—a touch of field recordings or vinyl crackle brings character to digital productions.
- Avoid overcompression—let dynamics breathe to retain energy and feel.
- Treat reverb as a compositional element—a well-placed reverb such as Waves H-Reverb can define depth and motion in the track.
