French DJ, producer, singer, and songwriter Myd has released his new album Mydnight, out now via Ed Banger Records and Because Music. Following months of teasers during festival sets and club dates, the record officially arrives as his most complete work to date, pairing his offbeat sense of humor with a more personal and emotionally open perspective.

Mydnight brings together an eclectic cast of collaborators including Channel Tres, Trueno, Calcutta, Carlita, and Bethanie Home (Kacy Hill). Myd’s own vocals appear on every track, tying together an album that is as much about songwriting as it is about club presence. From the samba-infused whistles on “So High” to the reflective textures of “9am,” the record presents a clear picture of where Myd’s career has landed after years of restless touring and constant creative experimentation.

A Global Album Written From the Road

Myd’s touring schedule across the past three years played a central role in shaping the album. His sets across Ibiza, Glastonbury, and countless clubs informed the rhythm and energy of tracks like “In My Head” with Carlita and “Make Me Feel Alive.” Each song captures a different perspective from the road, with influences ranging from late-night house sessions to festival-sized anthems.

Singles like “All That Glitters Is Not Gold,” featuring Trueno and Channel Tres, show Myd’s ability to balance radio-friendly hooks with club-ready production. On the other side, “Be Someone New” with Bethanie Home brings a stripped-back vocal performance that highlights his growing focus on songwriting and emotional honesty. The range reflects Myd’s decision to place no boundaries on what could appear on the record, resulting in a set that moves easily between humor, dancefloor energy, and reflective intimacy.

The live experience also influenced the shape of Mydnight. His new performance setup combines multiple cameras and screens to blur the line between DJ set and live show, giving audiences a more theatrical experience. Festival crowds in Europe have already seen the show, and this fall it will arrive in North America with stops in Montreal, Toronto, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Mexico City.

From Club Cheval to Solo Stardom

Myd first gained attention as part of the French collective Club Cheval before joining the Ed Banger roster as a solo artist. His 2021 debut Born A Loser included the Platinum-certified single “The Sun,” which spread internationally and pushed him toward larger stages. Since then, his focus on DJing has taken him across major clubs and festivals, while also deepening his connection to the underground.

The years between Born A Loser and Mydnight saw Myd experiment with different formats for audience connection. During lockdown he created a surreal variety show online, and more recently he completed a week-long Twitch stream where he finished the album live, DJed from his home, took calls from fans, and held yoga sessions on air. These projects reflected his belief in music as both a communal and personal exchange, setting the stage for the more open and unfiltered approach of his new album.

With Mydnight, Myd strips away the playfulness of earlier eras without losing the sense of fun that made him a fixture at festivals. Tracks like “Sweatin’,” which reimagines the 1974 song “How Long” by Ace, highlight his skill in blending references with modern production. Meanwhile, the closing track “The Wizard” has already become a live favorite for its peak-time energy. The album as a whole balances these extremes, serving as a document of an artist who has lived on the dancefloor but continues to refine his voice as a songwriter.

Mydnight is available now on all streaming platforms via Ed Banger Records and Because Music.
