Magnetic Magazine is back with another premiere, this time with Max Porcelli. He’s been a notable figure in the underground dance music scene for well over a few decades, starting his career in 1998. He’s released almost 70 singles, EPs, albums, and remixes.
That’s a prolific career, and we are honored to have him not only on Magnetic Magazine Recordings but also to premiere the track a week ahead of its official release. The track “Lotus” is organic and deep, groovy, and locks into the minimal approach, making every section punchy. Still, the background and the atmosphere drift in a light with different details. It evokes a ton of other emotions as the track develops and progresses.
Pre-Order The Track Here
The track “Lotus” is an organic deep, groovy piece that embraces a minimal approach, making every section punchy. The background atmospheres drift lightly with different details, evoking a range of emotions as the track develops and progresses.
What makes me so much more excited to have Max on the label is that Max is a record label owner himself. He is the head honcho at 989 Records, which has already been making some serious waves for well over a decade and a half in the northeast corner of Italy.
As we continue to grow and gain momentum with Magnetic Magazine Recordings and our whole ethos of being a community-focused record label, he is the perfect new addition to this community as we grow our label family and community of artists and labels. So listen to the track below, sink your ears into it, and prepare for the official release next Friday.
Will Vance is a professional music producer who has been involved in the industry for the better part of a decade and has been the managing editor at Magnetic Magazine since mid-2022. In that time period, he has published thousands of articles on music production, industry think pieces and educational articles about the music industry. Over the last decade as a professional music producer, Will Vance has also ran multiple successful and highly respected record labels in the industry, including Where The Heart Is Records as well as having launched a new label with a focus on community through Magnetic Magazine. When not running these labels or producing his own music, Vance is likely writing for other top industry sites like Waves or the Hyperbits Masterclass or working on his upcoming book on mindfulness in music production. On the rare chance he's not thinking about music production, he's probably running a game of Dungeons and Dragons with his friends which he has been the dungeon master for for many years.
