Max Porcelli understands well this ability of the universe to guide us down different paths, as his journey in music is marked by key moments that have driven him to the present. This story begins in 1989, palpably experiencing this premise. At the age of 13, together with his grandparents, he went to a club for the first time, discovering electronic culture there and falling in love with the lights, the fog, the immersive sound and the electrifying atmosphere.

From that moment on, the club became his refuge, and the DJ’s presence a source of fascination and inspiration, marking the beginning of a journey that would shape his passion for music and his destiny in unimaginable ways. That’s because a complete artist was born there, dedicated to adding to the electronic scene with an innovative vision and untethered creativity, which is expressed in different facets.

The first of these is his performance at DJing.

After mastering mixing techniques, Max went on to perform on various European stages and, step by step, built up a captivating artistic persona that connects deeply with the dancefloors. This connection with the effervescence of the audience guides him on his journey into music production.

With strong roots in House/Tech and Deep, the Italian artist has developed an authentic musical style characterized by innovative electronic beats, catchy melodies and dreamy, immersive soundscapes that differ from what we see on the music market today. But the final touch to his productions is certainly having the dancefloors in mind, trying to create the sound, tension and explosion that a track needs to provoke the desire to be in the club. His vast experience and in-depth knowledge of the art of production has led Max to create real gems for a refined case.

This is how he has created a fine discography, marked by innovative productions, such as his track “Want You Back”, a partnership with British singer Toni Leo, released in 2007 and accurately reflecting his style and musical power, “Games People Play”, produced together with P. Brothers, released on the Pacha Recording Ibizal, and “DeePanic”, his latest track recently supported by big names such as Marco Carola, Tjerk Coers (Armada), Joseph Capriati and Rich Hawtin. Not to mention other productions that deserve to be highlighted, such as “DeePanic”, “Dahlia”, “Nikita”, “Kora” and “My Monkey is Different”, which delve into modern music trends, but still incorporate his essence and appreciation for experimentation, such as the last track mentioned, which features efficient beats and a hypnotic rhythm, built on the African instrument.

In all, the artist has more than 70 singles, EPs, albums, and remixes under his belt and has worked with major labels such as Pacha Recordings Ibiza, Rise, Absolutely, Airplane, Moto Rec, and artists such as Inaya Day, Angie Brown, Jocelyn Brown and many more.

But it’s not all a bed of roses in this industry, and Porcelli has also faced some challenging moments. One of them marks a key moment in his career, which could have resulted in him giving up, but instead motivated him even more to do things differently in this market. This is because he had a song stolen by a record company; the story begins with a creation that was a real hit, produced after an inspiring night at the disco and, after being sent to a few labels, the idea was copied by one of them and released under another name, resulting in the artist losing a significant contract and in a musical crisis that lasted a few years. Nevertheless, Max turned things around, motivating him to create his label, 989 Records.

Since then, through his label, the artist has found his own space of creative freedom, as well as being able to promote that same feeling to other talents, with the responsibility to avoid mistakes and other frivolities like the one that happened to him. With over a decade of operation, 989 still has its radio show on Patchouli Deep London, broadcast weekly on Saturdays.

Another initiative developed by Porcelli is “How to Make Electronic Music“, his online educational project, where he shares all his teachings on music production, the market, and more, being a Steinberg Certified instructor, which is internationally recognized as a symbol of excellence in the field of audio production. With his experience and expertise, Porcelli empowers aspiring musicians and producers to master the complexities of the electronic music universe, presenting them with the tools they need to express their creativity and achieve success in the music industry.
