Posh Chocolates Shares His Unique and Unfiltered Approach on "Clever Weight Champion"

Posh Chocolates, the musical alter-ego of Christian Ellery, has returned with the genre-defying EP, “Clever Weight Champion.” From the outset with “Weird & Bizarre,” Ellery exhibits exceptional production skills and a cleverly tongue-in-cheek lyrical style. The track’s wonky drum beats and irresistible groove invite listeners into Posh Chocolates’ peculiar musical world, revealing a talented songwriter beneath the eccentricity. As Ellery explains – “The lines these days are blurred between what was once a binary between good/bad, true/corrupt, humbled/egotistical. I’ve become increasingly more self-aware of the effect of these subliminal societal pressures on myself and peers. And, as I get older, I’ve found it hard but interesting to combat, particularly trying to put into words. But it seemed that the most approachable way to voice this was with a manufactured ego. Rapping isn’t something I ever dreamed that I’d do, but with what I was trying to say and the effect I wanted it to portray this is the voice that seemed necessary.”

“Seein’ Stars” maintains the momentum with lively guitar work and funky drum arrangements, accompanied by catchy vocals enhanced with phone effects. “7%” introduces a hip-hop-inspired atmosphere, featuring a rap performance by Posh Chocolates, injecting a fresh twist into the EP.
