Expanding Horizons: IO Music Academy’s New San Francisco Location and Inaugural Class

Spring 2024 marks a milestone for IO Music Academy as it expands to San Francisco. The new location will accommodate 10 scholarship recipients, forming the inaugural class of this extension. This expansion signifies IO Music Academy’s growing influence in music production education.

Since its inception in 2017, IO Music Academy has been a hub of forward-thinking music production learning in Los Angeles. It’s renowned for fostering a dynamic community where innovation and collaborative learning take center stage. Notable alumni include Madame Gandhi, Mary Droppinz, Travis Emmons, Masha Mar, and SOOHAN, who have made significant strides in the music industry.

The There Is A Light Foundation, founded by lawyer and DJ/producer The Archer, aka Arash Homampour, complements this initiative. The foundation supports and enables individuals to pursue educational opportunities that enhance professional development, including degree programs and certification courses.

Prospective applicants from Los Angeles or San Francisco must be able to attend weekly classes, monthly private lessons, and studio sessions in person. The application process involves submitting a short video demonstrating their musical creativity, either in a studio setting or behind DJ decks. Interested candidates can find more details about submission guidelines and requirements on the academy’s application page.

With applications due by January 1st, 2024, the anticipation is building. Winners will be announced on January 9th, with classes commencing the week of January 15th at the Los Angeles campus and in Spring 2024 for the San Francisco location.

This scholarship program is more than just a financial grant; it’s a gateway to unparalleled learning experiences, industry connections, and a chance for budding music producers to turn their dreams into reality. As IO Music Academy and There Is A Light Foundation join forces, the future of electronic music production education looks brighter than ever.
