Delve into the following interview to get an inside glimpse into the inspiration and intent behind “Story of The Fall”.
1 – Can you tell us about the inspiration behind the title “Story Of The Fall”?
“Story of the Fall” tells the story of me falling into a dark place over the past 3 years, the album is constructed in a way that you follow the evolution chronologically. It’s also a reference to a early Tiesto compilation of the same name.
2 – “Shield” and “Twilight” have been singled out for their intricate melodies. What was your approach when creating these tracks?
“Shield” is a demo that I’ve started back in 2016,it has that classic Fax vibe which was very melodic back then. “Twilight” was written as a demo for This Never Happened, but ultimately I’ve kept it for the album.
3 – How have you seen your sound change since your first studio album?
I think as I grow up and with every album or releases I do, I try to find new inspirations that I connect with. On this record I was mostly inspired by dark stuff, because I was only listening this.
4 – What does the term “progressive melodic sound” mean to you, and how does it influence your music?
I don’t really inspire myself from Progressive anymore, but it’s a style that I’ve mastered and love for the most part of my life. It takes me back to my first emotions thought music, and overall it will always be my favorite type of music.
5 – How do you want listeners to feel when they listen to this album?
I just want them to connect with my music, so they don’t feel alone in their dark times. Life is tough, but you’re not alone in this.
