Aaron Hibell, known also simply as Hibell, took his place amongst the exclusive list of artists to perform a Selected. Sessions set, filmed at Hallgrímskirkja, one of the most iconic places in Reykjavík and one of the most well-known religious buildings in the world.
The rising British star is known for his creative, yet emotional tracks spanning a range of house, melodic house, and melodic techno. His latest release, ‘Ghost,’ featuring HUMAN combines a wide array of musical influences with pop-flavored vocals surrounding a strong melodic house structure, made up of arps and pads.
Aaron Hibell is a university student turned producer. He dropped out of college to pursue his passion for music, inspired largely by classical music. He is now signed to British radio icon Pete Tong’s FFRR Recordings label, through which he has released a number of tracks ranging from instrumentals to remakes of some of the last two decades’ most popular tracks including Bruno Mars’ ‘Talking To The Moon’ and Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘Deja Vu.’ He’s also remixed tracks for the likes of Diplo and others.
One of his most notable achievements is writing and producing the soundtrack (called ‘Benevolence’) for Apple TV+’s Tetris film, one of an increasing number of amazing Apple TV+ stories. Now, he takes his experience with creating cinema-ready music to the next level by delivering a cinema-ready DJ set.
The set features a wide array of new and previous music, shot at a beautiful sunset with the sun gleaming on the church building behind him. We’re excited to see where he’s going next, and in the meantime, you can watch the set below.
