
Roland has announced the release of Version 3 for its popular SP-404MKII Creative Sampler and Effector. Since its launch in 2021, the SP-404MKII has been the go-to instrument for beatmakers and creative musicians worldwide. Version 3 offers several new workflow features and improved performance based on feedback from the SP artist community. The free update includes various pattern sequencer and DJ Mode enhancements, making the SP-404MKII an even more powerful tool for live performers and dance music producers.
The SP-404MKII Version 3 features include improved sequencer stability for playing multiple long audio files in sync, motion recording for effects parameters, pad mute, and mute pad automation, optimized MIDI sync for tight synchronization with external instruments, one-shot playback for performing with long samples, the ability to convert patterns to samples, expanded DJ Mode with various enhancements, and additional workflow improvements such as quantize after recording and finer tempo setting range.

The SP-404MKII App has also been updated, providing faster import/export speed and AU3/VST3 plug-in support for music production software on Mac and Windows computers.
