Christian Hornbostel is back on Magnetic Magazine Recordings with his latest single, “Orbis,” and this release is a particularly exciting one for us because it officially marks our 75th signing as a label. It’s a milestone we’ve been working toward for some time, and having a returning artist like Christian involved feels like an appropriate way to celebrate it.
Over the years, Christian has developed an extensive background in electronic music as a producer, DJ, and composer, with a musical approach that draws from his experience across different corners of the genre, all of which he’s discussed in previous features we’ve done with him. That experience is part of what makes his productions a natural fit for what we’re building here at Magnetic Magazine Recordings, where we focus on progressive house that prioritizes musical ideas, thoughtful production, and tracks DJs can work into their sets.
We’re premiering “Orbis” exclusively on Magnetic Magazine ahead of its official November 6, 2026, release, giving listeners an early opportunity to check out the full original mix.
Christian Hornbostel Returns With “Orbis”
One of the things we’ve been particularly interested in as our label continues to grow is developing ongoing relationships with producers whose music aligns with the direction we’re taking the catalog. Bringing artists back for additional releases allows us to build on those relationships, and Christian’s return for MMR075 is another example of that approach.
“Orbis” sits within the progressive house category, with the original mix running six and a half minutes at 123 BPM. It’s a format that gives DJs room to incorporate the track into longer sets, particularly those moving through the deeper and more melodic side of progressive house.
For anyone who’s been following our releases, the single continues our focus on working with established producers alongside artists we’re introducing to the label for the first time.

Reaching 75 signings has given us an opportunity to look at the artists we’ve worked with, the relationships we’ve developed, and where we want to take Magnetic Magazine Recordings next.
We’ve got plenty of new music planned, and we’re continuing to work with producers who share our interest in progressive house and its development as a genre.

In that time period, he has published thousands of articles on music production, industry think pieces and educational articles about the music industry. Over the last decade as a professional music producer, Will Vance has also ran multiple successful and highly respected record labels in the industry, including Where The Heart Is Records as well as having launched a new label with a focus on community through Magnetic Magazine. When not running these labels or producing his own music, Vance is likely writing for other top industry sites like Waves or the Hyperbits Masterclass or working on his upcoming book on mindfulness in music production. On the rare chance he's not thinking about music production, he's probably running a game of Dungeons and Dragons with his friends which he has been the dungeon master for for many years.
