Acoustic treatment is one of those studio investments that often gets postponed until there’s a noticeable problem with the monitoring environment. Producers will spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on new speakers, interfaces, and plugins while continuing to work in rooms with excessive reflections, uneven bass response, and frequency cancellations that make mixing unnecessarily difficult.

I’ve written about this quite a bit over the past year, particularly because improving the room itself can help producers make more reliable decisions with the equipment they already own.

GIK Acoustics is addressing the cost of those improvements with its annual Black Friday promotion, offering discounts of up to 15% across its complete acoustic treatment catalog. The sale begins Friday, November 6, and continues through Sunday, November 29, with offers available through the company’s US and UK/EU online stores. Rather than applying a single discount to every order, GIK is introducing a tiered system that rewards larger purchases, making the promotion particularly relevant for producers planning to treat an entire studio or address several acoustic problems at once.

The company is also offering free room-planning consultations, allowing customers to work with its acoustic specialists before deciding what to buy. That’s an important part of the announcement because buying more treatment doesn’t automatically mean buying the right treatment.

Room dimensions, speaker positioning, listening position, and the specific frequencies causing problems should influence which products are selected and where they’re installed.

How GIK Acoustics’ Black Friday Discounts Work

GIK’s promotion follows three spending tiers, beginning with a 5% discount on every order regardless of its value. In the United States, orders of $1,199 or more qualify for 10% off, while purchases reaching $2,999 receive the maximum 15% discount. These thresholds are calculated before tax, so customers should factor that in when planning their purchases.

The UK and European thresholds are different. Orders of £799 or €799 qualify for 10% off, while purchases of £1,699 or €1,699 receive 15% off. Unlike the US thresholds, these amounts include VAT. The promotion applies to GIK’s full range, including acoustic panels, bass traps, diffusers, and modular treatment systems.

For producers planning a larger studio upgrade, those discounts can reduce the cost of treating multiple surfaces in one purchase. A $3,000 US order, for example, would qualify for a $450 discount before tax, bringing the discounted product total to $2,550. Smaller purchases still receive 5% off, so the promotion also supports customers who need only a few additional panels or bass traps.

Why Acoustic Treatment Should Be a Studio Priority

The main reason to invest in acoustic treatment is to improve the accuracy of what you’re hearing while producing and mixing. Low-frequency problems are particularly common in smaller rooms, where standing waves and speaker-boundary interactions can create large differences in bass response depending on the listening position. Reflections from walls, ceilings, and other nearby surfaces can also affect stereo imaging and frequency balance, making it harder to judge individual instruments within a mix.

I explored these problems in my interview with GIK Acoustics’ David Shevyn, where we discussed speaker placement, bass trapping, and the mistakes producers frequently make when treating smaller studios. One key point was that treatment decisions should start with the room’s characteristics rather than assuming every space needs the same collection of products.

We’ve also had an opportunity to examine the equipment itself.

In our GIK StackPack review, Ben Lepper tested the company’s freestanding modular treatment system in a basement studio and reported improvements in bass clarity and the overall monitoring environment. More recently, I covered GIK’s expanded bass trap collection, which introduced deeper panels designed to address low-frequency problems that thinner absorbers may struggle to control. The Black Friday promotion provides an opportunity to purchase those products at a reduced price, although selecting the appropriate treatment remains the more important consideration.

Free Room Planning and Black Friday Availability

One of the more valuable parts of GIK’s promotion is its free room planning service. Customers can submit details about their space and work with the company’s acoustic team to identify appropriate treatment options. GIK also offers a browser-based 3D Room Configurator for planning the placement of acoustic panels, bass traps, and diffusers. During the sale, the consultation team expects to respond within approximately two to three days.

That service could be particularly helpful for home studio owners who aren’t certain where to begin. A producer working in a small bedroom may need to address early reflections and bass buildup before investing in additional treatment elsewhere, while someone working in a larger dedicated studio may have different priorities. GIK manufactures its products to order, and the company’s online stores display current dispatch estimates before checkout, so customers should review those timelines when planning installations.

The Black Friday promotion runs from November 6 through November 29, 2026, with the same discount structure available across the company’s regional stores. US customers can shop through GIK Acoustics US, while customers in the UK and Europe can use GIK Acoustics Europe.

Customers can also request free acoustic advice before placing an order. For producers who have been planning room improvements, the sale offers an opportunity to reduce the cost of treatment while getting professional input on what their studio actually requires.
