Volkoder (@volkoder) returns to Hot Creations with My House EP, landing June 12, 2026. The Brazilian producer’s second release on Jamie Jones’ label follows last year’s Need Your Body EP and arrives during a major Ibiza season for him, including his debut at Paradise at UNVRS Ibiza in the same month.
For an artist with two decades in house music behind him, the timing puts the release inside a wider period of motion across labels, clubs, and international stages.
The two-track EP keeps its focus on groove, pressure, and clean club function. “My House” draws on 90s house influences while keeping the production locked into a current dancefloor setting, with commanding synths, vocal cuts, and a heavy low-end foundation.
“Bassline Hits” moves in a slightly different direction, working with UK-inspired synth ideas, female vocal touches, and the groove-led identity that has been part of Volkoder’s sound for years.
In the conversation below, Volkoder talks about being present behind the decks, reading the room, staying focused during fast-moving sets, and understanding when the crowd is giving him the information he needs. His answers keep returning to connection rather than control, and that distinction feels important for a record built around dancefloor impact. For him, presence is not an abstract idea. It is the practical ability to stay aware, make real-time decisions, and stay connected to the people directly in front of him.

What does presence behind the decks mean to you in actual terms?
For me, presence behind the decks means being completely connected to the moment. It is about listening carefully to the crowd, understanding their energy, and making decisions based on what the room needs rather than following a fixed plan. The best sets happen when there is a real exchange of energy between the DJ and the audience.
How do you stay mentally and physically engaged while everything moves quickly around you?
Experience has helped me a lot with that. When you are touring constantly, there are many distractions, and I have learned to focus on the music and the people in front of me. Physically, I try to take care of myself as much as possible, and mentally, I remind myself that every set is a unique opportunity to create a memorable experience.
What are the usual signs you notice in yourself that tell you you are locked into a set on the decks?
I notice that I stop thinking too much and start reacting naturally to the crowd. Everything becomes more instinctive, from track selection to reading the room. Time also seems to pass very quickly, which is usually a sign that I am fully immersed in the moment.
What helps you return to focus if your attention starts to move away from what is really important while playing?
I always go back to the dancefloor. Looking at the crowd immediately reminds me why I am there and what matters most. The audience gives you all the information you need if you are paying attention, and reconnecting with that energy helps bring my focus back instantly.
Do you think audiences sense when a DJ is fully present and focused, or when their attention is on content, promotion, or anything other than the floor?
Absolutely. Crowds are much more aware than people sometimes think.
They can feel when a DJ is genuinely connected to the music and the moment, and they can also sense when attention is somewhere else. Authenticity creates a better connection, and audiences always respond to that.
How has your understanding of presence changed over time?
Earlier in my career, I probably thought more about technical aspects and performance. Over time, I have realized that presence is really about connection. It is not about trying to control every moment. It is about being open, aware, and fully engaged with the experience you are sharing with the crowd.
