Sennheiser has introduced ACCENTUM Clip, a new open-ear true wireless earbud designed for listeners who want to stay aware of their surroundings without sacrificing the sound quality people usually expect from the brand.

Open-ear earbuds have become a bigger category because they solve a real daily problem.

A lot of people want music while commuting, working, running errands, walking through the city, training, or taking calls, but they still need to hear traffic, announcements, coworkers, doorbells, coffee orders, and everything else happening around them. ACCENTUM Clip is Sennheiser’s answer to that, with a clip-style design that keeps the ear canal open instead of sealing the listener off.

That open design is the main point, but the audio side is where Sennheiser is trying to set ACCENTUM Clip apart from many casual open-ear options.

The earbuds use a 12 mm dynamic driver, support Bluetooth 6.0, include LDAC streaming on compatible devices, and carry Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification.

ACCENTUM Clip is available in Black and Cream colorways, and ships in zero-plastic eco-friendly packaging. The earbuds will be available in Canada starting July 23rd from sennheiser-hearing.com and Best Buy with a suggested retail price of $269.95 CAD.

Here’s The Big STuff

  • Sennheiser has introduced ACCENTUM Clip, an open-ear true wireless earbud designed for listeners who want music, calls, and awareness of their surroundings all at once.
  • The earbuds include a 12 mm dynamic driver, Bluetooth 6.0, LDAC support, Dynamic EQ, and Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification, which gives the open-ear format a more serious audio angle.
  • ACCENTUM Clip launches in Canada on July 23 for $269.95 CAD, with Black and Cream color options and up to 36 hours of total battery life with the charging case.

What makes Sennheiser ACCENTUM Clip different from regular earbuds?

The biggest difference is that ACCENTUM Clip is built around natural awareness rather than noise blocking. Traditional earbuds sit in the ear canal and usually rely on a sealed fit, ANC, or transparency mode to manage the outside environment. ACCENTUM Clip leaves the ear open, so the listener hears the surrounding environment naturally while the earbuds deliver music from a carefully positioned driver.

That matters for people who do not want to keep switching between isolation and transparency modes all day. It also makes the earbuds useful for anyone whose daily routine moves between work, transit, exercise, calls, and quick conversations without a clean break between those situations.

Can open-ear earbuds still sound good?

That is the big question in this category, and Sennheiser is clearly aiming the ACCENTUM Clip at listeners who have been interested in open-ear comfort but have been hesitant about the sound.

The earbuds use a 12 mm dynamic driver tuned for clarity, punchy bass, and smooth treble. They also use Dynamic EQ, which compensates for tonal shifts at lower playback volumes and then eases back as the volume rises to help preserve balance and avoid distortion.

LDAC support is another useful feature for listeners with compatible devices, as it enables higher-bitrate wireless streaming. ACCENTUM Clip also works with SBC and AAC, keeping the earbuds broadly compatible with millions of phones, tablets, laptops, and other devices.

The Sennheiser Smart Control Plus app adds a 5-band EQ, shareable presets, Sound Check guided prompts, and connectivity controls for users who want to tune the experience further.

How practical are ACCENTUM Clip earbuds for everyday use?

ACCENTUM Clip weighs 6.8 grams per earbud and uses a flexible silicone bridge to keep the driver positioned near the ear. The design is meant to feel secure during commutes, gym sessions, and long days where a normal earbud seal might become annoying.

The IP54 rating adds protection against dust and sweat, while textured touch controls keep volume, calls, and playback close without needing to reach for a phone. Each earbud also includes a dual-microphone system with AI noise reduction to help isolate the wearer’s voice during calls.

Battery life is rated at up to nine hours per charge, with three additional top-ups from the charging case for up to 36 hours total. A 10-minute USB-C quick charge provides up to two hours of playback.

ACCENTUM Clip will be available in Black and Cream starting July 23 in Canada through Sennheiser and Best Buy for $269.95 CAD, with availability for Central and South America expected later in the year.
