For many artists, gaming references are little more than aesthetic flourishes. For GHENGAR, they have become foundational to the project’s identity.
His latest single, “TACTICAL NUKE,” continues expanding a creative universe built around gaming nostalgia, aggressive bass music, and metal influences. While the record functions as a devastating standalone dubstep weapon, it also represents a broader vision GHENGAR has spent years developing.
More Than a Gaming Reference
At the center of that vision is a deep appreciation for gaming culture. “TACTICAL NUKE” pays tribute to Call of Duty Zombies through the use of the legendary “FETCH ME THEIR SOULS” sample while incorporating additional horde references throughout the arrangement. For many listeners, those moments immediately evoke memories of late-night sessions spent battling endless waves of zombies alongside friends.
“‘TACTICAL NUKE’ is a love letter to a golden era of gaming,” GHENGAR says, describing the release as an effort to capture both the excitement and camaraderie that defined that era.
The musical execution matches the concept. Thick bass textures, metal-inspired vocal work, and relentless tearout energy collide throughout the track, producing a listening experience that feels cinematic in scope while remaining firmly rooted in modern dubstep.
The Next Chapter of the GHENGAR Universe
The release also arrives at a significant moment for the project. Earlier this year, GHENGAR unveiled GNARCADE VOL. 1, introducing a more tearout-focused sound while further embracing gaming-inspired visuals and storytelling. That next chapter made its live debut at Forbidden Kingdom, where fans witnessed one of the festival’s most memorable moshpit moments.
Beyond the music itself, GHENGAR has cultivated a highly engaged fan community through initiatives such as his custom one-of-one masks, awarded to standout attendees at every performance. The concept has transformed each show into a hunt for membership within the growing GHENGAR cult.
As the project continues expanding through major festival appearances, international performances, and increasingly ambitious releases, “TACTICAL NUKE” demonstrates why GHENGAR occupies a unique lane within bass music. Rather than borrowing from gaming culture, he has built an entire world around it.

Raised in upstate New York, I was always a big fan of music but never really listened to electronic music. Within the first month of attending Florida State University and meeting some new friends, I was introduced to the rave scene. After seeing Ekali at my first show, I was instantly hooked. Since then, I have dived into every subgenre of electronic music, picked up DJing, and mixed for clubs and different entertainment events in Tallahassee. Once graduating with degrees in marketing and hospitality, I was hired for a sales position. However, I recently decided to leave my sales job to pursue my dream of working in the music industry. Currently, I run Magnetic Magazine's Melodic Techno Charts, along with my role as a PR and marketing specialist for different artists and labels. Some of my favorite artists are REZZ, Kyle Watson, TOBEHONEST, San Pacho, Josh Baker, HUGEL, ARTBAT, Vintage Culture, Ganja White Night, CamelPhat, Green Velvet, Jungle, Milky Chance, Paco Versailles, Franc Moody, and RÜFUS DU SOL. My favorite festivals are Hulaween (by far), EDC Orlando, and all the different venues during Miami Music Week. Outside of music, I love sports (especially hockey, soccer, tennis, basketball, and spike ball), going to the movies, working out, sushi, Chick-fil-A, food in general, and hanging with my dog Maui and my cat Loki. Feel free to reach out to me via my email or on IG, I love expanding my network of friends and business opportunities!
