Choujaa, Ziddo, and MJ Sings have linked up for “Mwari,” a new Afro House release arriving via Afroholic Records on May 1, 2026. The title translates to “God” in Shona, and the record builds its message around faith, struggle, and hope without pushing the concept too far into heavy-handed territory.
What I like about this one is how direct it feels. MJ Sings leads the track with a vocal that moves between Ndebele and Shona, giving the record a clear cultural center from the first pass. The delivery feels lived-in and steady, and that directness gives the production enough space to work around the vocal instead of crowding it out.
The track comes from three artists who clearly understand the current Afro House lane without sanding down the cultural detail that gives the style its identity. Choujaa and Ziddo keep the production centered on percussion, movement, and melodic restraint, and MJ Sings brings the kind of vocal presence that can connect in a club setting without losing the meaning behind the words.

Choujaa, Ziddo & MJ Sings Release Mwari
“Mwari” is built around a focused arrangement that keeps each part in its own lane. The percussion drives the track forward, the melodic layers add depth without overloading the mix, and the vocal remains the clearest point of connection throughout the record. That balance is usually where Afro House either works or falls apart, because too much polish can flatten the human side of the track, and too many ideas can take attention away from the central message.
Here, the arrangement stays clean. The rhythm gives DJs a functional structure to work with, especially in the Extended Mix, and the Radio Edit gives the song a tighter entry point for casual listening and playlist placement. That split feels practical, because the record has enough club utility for longer sets and enough vocal focus for listeners coming to it outside a dancefloor context.
There is also a clear sense of restraint in the production. The track leans on steady movement, warm melodic phrasing, and percussion that keeps the body of the record intact without forcing every section to compete for attention. For a song centered on faith and cultural identity, that restraint helps the message stay readable.
Afroholic Records Builds Its Afro House Catalog
The release also fits neatly within Afroholic Records’ growing catalog. Founded by Nitefreak, the label has been carving out a lane around Afro House records that treat cultural identity as part of the music’s foundation, and “Mwari” fits that approach cleanly. It has the kind of production values needed for international club spaces, yet the vocal and language choices keep the record tied to its roots.
That combination gives the release its clearest value. “Mwari” works as a club record, a vocal-led Afro House cut, and a culturally grounded collaboration from three artists operating with a shared sense of purpose.
