Sparrow (CH) closed out February with a clear pivot into solo work, as “Sweet Desire” featuring Charli arrived on Tortuga Records with a full version and a Radio Edit.

The single lands today, on February 27, 2026, and it marked his first solo release after building his name as one half of Sparrow and Barbossa.

A solo release that clarified Sparrow’s next phase

This release mattered because it put Sparrow’s own name at the center, and it did it through the label he founded.

Tortuga Records launched in 2022, and it has functioned as his home base, so a solo debut here read as a deliberate step rather than a side project. “Sweet Desire” also followed recent public signals that he was moving into a new direction for 2026, and this single established that direction with a focused, vocal-forward record designed for club play.

The track paired Sparrow’s rhythmic approach with Charli on vocals, and the writing leaned on a steady groove and melodic detail that felt aligned with his earlier catalog while still pushing into a cleaner solo identity. You also get two practical options for programming, since the release included the main version and a Radio Edit, which makes it easier to place in different contexts across a set or a broadcast slot.

Context from his catalog and the Tortuga setup

Sparrow’s background included work that helped define a run of Afro house output over the past decade, and the solo move arrived with enough history behind it that listeners already had a sense of his musical priorities.

His past collaborations cited in the release included Rampa, Josh Milan, and Dele Sosimi, plus crossover work connected to Sia and deadmau5. That range matters because it points to a producer who has moved between club systems and wider-format projects, which often shows up in how a record is arranged and mixed.

Tortuga has also been positioned as a platform for records built for DJ use and for audiences that move between scenes, and “Sweet Desire” functioned as a direct example of that. The release presented Sparrow as a label founder who wanted to set a tone for what comes next, and the track served that role by being specific in its direction while still leaving room for him to expand the solo catalog across 2026.

“Sweet Desire feat. Charli” is out now on Tortuga Records under catalog TT059B, and it is available in two versions, the full track and a Radio Edit.
