kiskadee returns with ‘here with u’, the first single from his forthcoming second album, due in 2027. Built around shuffling drums, bright melodic lines and textured electronic production, the track introduces the next chapter for the Jersey-raised, East London-based artist, with a remix from Courage to follow.
The percussion gives ‘here with u’ a loose, skipping feel, while bright melodies bring warmth and lift. Detailed electronic textures sit within an immediate, inviting arrangement, pairing rhythmic movement with the emotional pull that runs through kiskadee’s work. It’s an assured first glimpse of the album to come, equally suited to a festival afternoon or a late-night dancefloor.
Behind kiskadee is multi-instrumentalist, producer and composer Jack Chown. Raised on Jersey, he developed an approach shaped by his island surroundings, combining organic field recordings with electronic production. The project took form during lockdown in 2020, when he began collecting voice notes from friends and family and transforming them into bittersweet beats.
His debut EP Home arrived in 2021, followed by the album A Room to Breathe in 2024. Blending ambient and club influences with field recordings and live instrumentation, the releases earned support from BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, Clash and Complex.
Since launching his live show in 2023, kiskadee has performed at Glastonbury, Green Man, Wilderness and Secret Garden Party, alongside headline shows and support appearances across London.
Chown previously worked as an engineer at Abbey Road and Baltic Studios, alongside producers including Andrew Wyatt, Kid Harpoon and Stint, on projects involving M.I.A., Jessie Ware, Liam Gallagher and James Bay. His parallel work as a composer spans film, international campaigns and installations. His score for Touching Hands, made in collaboration with Guy Ritchie, won a Music & Sound Award, while his interactive installation Photo//Synthesis paired sound with digital plant and flower scans that responded to audience movement.
Working from his own studio in East London, kiskadee brings that breadth of experience to music rooted in emotional detail and the interplay between organic and electronic sound. ‘here with u’ begins the next phase, ahead of further music and his second album in 2027.
