Universal Audio has released the UAFX 2.0 update, a significant new firmware expansion for its UAFX amp emulator and dual-footswitch effects pedals. Available now as a free download, the update introduces full USB MIDI connectivity, additional user presets, and improved app integration via Bluetooth or direct USB connection.

Known for their precise analog modeling and studio-grade sound, UAFX pedals are used by guitarists and producers to capture the tone and response of classic amps and effects. With this new update, UA brings a deeper level of control and flexibility to its pedal ecosystem, making it easier to integrate into modern setups across stage, studio, and home environments.

New Features and Improvements

UAFX 2.0 adds USB MIDI connectivity, allowing players to control parameters, switch presets, and send real-time performance data directly through compatible MIDI hosts or interfaces. The update also expands preset management for UAFX amp emulators, letting users store up to four custom presets and toggle between them instantly.

App connectivity has been enhanced for stability and ease of use, offering faster pairing and improved reliability with the UAFX Control app. Users can now connect via Bluetooth or a wired USB-to-mobile connection for editing and management.

Rodrigo Ibieta, Universal Audio’s Director of Product, called this update the most comprehensive in the UAFX line to date. “We’ve listened to our users. By adding MIDI over USB, expanded presets, and smoother app connectivity, we’re giving them more creative freedom to shape their tone wherever they play,” he said.

Available Now for All UAFX Owners

The UAFX 2.0 update is available globally starting November 11, 2025. It can be downloaded for free at UA’s official website, and all current UAFX pedal owners are eligible. MIDI CC parameter control features are being released under open beta, offering an early look at advanced routing and automation options.
