JD Sports has rolled out four exclusive colorways of the New Balance 1000, a silhouette that first landed in 1999 and has only gained more traction in today’s retro-tech sneaker climate. Available now through JD’s Global Access platform, these new editions mark a return to early-2000s sneaker design with a sharp focus on layered texture and futuristic detail.

The 1000 for men in Grey with Red Stripes and Black with Blue Stripes are dropping now on JD’s exclusive Global Access platform, which features elite styles not available at any other retailer – made just for the JD consumer and two more exclusive colorways for the 1000 are also available at JD only – the women’s White and Turquoise and the men’s Light Blue and Black

The men’s Grey with Red Stripes and Black with Blue Stripes are the headliners for this drop. They join two additional exclusives: a White and Turquoise pair for women and a Light Blue and Black pair for men. All four are JD-only and priced at $150.

The New Balance 1000 was originally designed with performance in mind, but its exaggerated shape, segmented midsole, and complex paneling have kept it relevant in lifestyle fashion. This new run sticks to the original framework with a tech-forward build: mesh uppers peeking through rigid overlays, thick structural panelling, and ABZORB cushioning at the heel and forefoot. Stability Web tech through the midfoot adds support without increasing weight.

The segmented sole unit is where the 1000 still breaks from the pack. That architectural design—not streamlined, not minimal—gives the sneaker a kind of reverse-future energy. Instead of aiming for sleek, it leans harder into complexity and suspension, which feels more in line with what retro futurism actually looked like at the time of its release.

To anchor the release, JD Sports and New Balance brought on England forward Bukayo Saka to lead a campaign that ties the sneaker to youth culture, music, and local community. Shot in London, the campaign also features a cameo from genre-blending rapper redveil, emphasizing the model’s link to modern energy and underground expression.

All four colorways are available now at jdsports.com and JD’s 345 retail locations in the U.S.
