At some point during a long production session, continuing to work on a track starts to produce diminishing returns.

You find yourself making small EQ adjustments, questioning decisions that sounded perfectly fine an hour earlier, and listening to the same section until it’s difficult to judge whether you’re actually improving anything. I’ve found that getting outside for a few hours is one of the easiest ways to regain perspective, especially when it means leaving my computer and studio equipment behind entirely.

That’s part of why I’ve become increasingly interested in outdoor gear that makes those breaks easier to incorporate into a normal routine. You don’t need a weeklong camping trip or a particularly ambitious hike to benefit from spending time outside. Sometimes an afternoon at a nearby park, a couple of hours beside a river, or an evening away from your normal working environment is enough to help you return to a session with a clearer idea of what needs attention.

The important part is making those activities accessible enough that you’re actually willing to do them regularly.

Nike’s All Conditions Gear division and Helinox have collaborated on a new limited-edition collection that fits that thinking particularly well. Released November 2, the ACG x Helinox Ultralight Collection includes three pieces of lightweight outdoor equipment: the Chair Zero LT, Table Zero LT, and 17-liter Camp Sack.

The products combine Helinox’s established lightweight furniture construction with ACG’s recognizable orange color scheme and custom branding.

They’re designed for people who want to spend time outdoors without carrying bulky camping gear, making them especially appealing for shorter outings when portability matters.

Why Getting Outside Can Help Your Creative Process

I’ve written about the relationship between outdoor activities and music production before because I think it’s an important part of maintaining a sustainable creative routine.

Producing music requires constant decision-making, and spending too long listening to the same material can make those decisions increasingly difficult. Your ears need breaks, your attention shifts during extended sessions, and the time you spend working doesn’t necessarily match the quality of the result.

In my earlier article on how getting outside can reset your creative process, I discussed why physical distance from your studio can help interrupt repetitive working habits. Getting outdoors gives you a chance to stop focusing on the same musical problems, and activities like walking or hiking introduce movement and a different set of things to focus on.

Research into outdoor activity and attention also suggests that spending time in natural environments can support certain aspects of cognitive performance. That doesn’t mean an afternoon hike will automatically produce better music, and the benefits will differ by person and activity. It does provide another reason to take regular breaks, particularly for people whose work involves extended periods indoors.

The ACG x Helinox collection matters because it makes longer outdoor breaks easier to plan. A lightweight chair and table can give you somewhere comfortable to spend an afternoon reading, writing ideas in a notebook, or simply enjoying time away from your usual workspace.

The equipment is compact enough for shorter hikes or to keep in a vehicle, reducing the prep involved in bringing conventional outdoor furniture.

ACG x Helinox Chair Zero LT: A One-Pound Camp Chair

The Chair Zero LT is the primary product in the collection, weighing just 1 lb 3 oz (534 g) when packed while supporting up to 265 lbs (120 kg) when assembled. Its frame uses DAC’s TH72M aluminum alloy and nylon resin hubs, while the seat incorporates Helinox’s Ghostgrid fabric, a translucent monofilament mesh reinforced with a ripstop grid to help prevent small tears from spreading.

The construction is particularly interesting because Helinox has concentrated on reducing weight without eliminating features that contribute to comfort and stability. The chair includes an X-Strap that increases its contact area with the ground, helping prevent the legs from sinking into softer surfaces such as sand or grass. Shock-corded poles simplify assembly, and the frame folds into a compact carrying case when the chair isn’t being used.

The ACG edition introduces a black Ghostgrid seat, bright orange aluminum frame, and limited-edition collaboration branding. The original Chair Zero LT also received a Red Dot Award for Product Design in 2026, adding context for the underlying design.

For producers who spend much of their working day sitting at a desk, the appeal is fairly straightforward. Having a comfortable place to sit outdoors can make it easier to spend longer periods away from home, whether that’s during a hike, beside a campsite, or at a favorite outdoor location. At just over one pound packed, it can fit into a backpack without adding the weight associated with larger folding chairs.

The limited-edition collection is available through Helinox’s official website: the Chair Zero LT is $169.95, the Table Zero LT is $159.95, and the Camp Sack is $39.95.
