The civil war continues as the deeper side of techno finds itself further away from the big room variety which has absorbed the harder edges of both tech-house and trance. No discrimination here though. We love good music that can make you move.
Follow our Spotify techno chart where we compile all of the charts so far this year:
1. “IMAGINARY PLEASURES” – RED ROOMS [CLERGY]
“Imaginary Pleasures” by Red Rooms tops the techno chart this month with his own uncompromising contribution to the latest Clergy compilation you need to download stat.
2. “OHNE SONNE” – SLV [CLERGY]
On the third edition of Clergy‘s ten year celebration, they invited German producer, SLV and the result is this deep techno that almost quite literally digs deeper. Listen for the sound of a shovel digging into dirt.
3. “SHADOW WORKS (CLERIC 3 / 10 REMIX)” – FELICIE [CLERGY]
French producer, Felicie‘s contribution to the Clergy comp is on the deeper side of the genre as well. A smooth but ominous production that that stands apart from the noisier tunes more prevalent within techno.
4. “EVIL” – YANAMASTE [MUTUAL RYTM]
Yanamaste’s “Evil” on Mutual Rytm is both subtle and sinister. Two dominating qualities on one track that defy the current trends of today.
5. “OHOHOI” – YANAMASTE [MUTUAL RYTM]
“Ohohoi” is equally as good as “Evil.” Both are downright, wicked in every sense of the word.
6. “PWIU” – YANAMASTE [MUTUAL RYTM]
“Pwiu” is a wormhole odyssey that involves oscillating effects. Something fit for Berghain at 7AM on a Monday morning.
7. “MODULATION DETECTED” – YANAMASTE [MUTUAL RYTM]
The fourth and final from Yanamaste’s seven-tracker to be included is this eerie one he calls, “Modulation Detected.”
8. “B2BASIC” – THE SOUTHERN [CLR]
The Southern is back on CLR with two originals and a DJ Rush remix. Three masterful bangers that rival the best of them. Including, the title track right here that strikes heavily for a solid five minutes at a frenetic speed of 143 BPM.
9. “BEG IT” – THE SOUTHERN [CLR]
“Beg It” is the other outstanding original on The Southern’s return to Chris Liebing‘s CLR imprint. A bit slower in pace but equally detrimental to the peace in your neighborhood.
10. “EXPLORER” – ADAM BEYER [DRUMCODE]
It’s been nearly a quarter of a century since the Drumcode don, Adam Beyer gave us a full-length album so his news about the Explorer Vol.1 L.P. dropping in a few months is quite the shock. Here’s the first teaser from that upcoming album which should keep your sets busy until then.
11. “STARS” – VICTOR RUIZ, MILA JOURNEE [MAU5TRAP]
This Brazilian collaboration on the legendary mau5trap imprint is loaded with stuttering fills. Absolutely perfect for the dawn of 2025’s festival season.

Jay Lumen’s newest, two-tracker on his Footwork imprint features this hardgroove weapon that should not be overlooked. Turn it up.

Jay Lumen’s title track is another. Gentle with melody, yet. Rough and ready for the dance-floor.
14. “HELLO” – ANII [TRUESOUL]
Anii is an Ibiza-based, Polish born electronic music aficionado who began her career in drum-n-bass but has since moved onto the sound you hear with “Hello” on Truesoul. A diverse production that sees her explore the various facets of modern, dance music.
15. “LUNAE” – METODI HRISTOV, MARIE VAUNT [SET ABOUT MUSIC]
Metodi Hristov adds yet another belter to his catalog on his own Set About Music imprint. Except, this time with L.A. based producer, Marie Vaunt.
