The Rab Men’s Force Hoody is a versatile, high-performance next-to-skin base or primary layer perfect for hiking, SUPing, cycling, or festival camping. It can be worn independently or paired with a light windbreaker or waterproof shell for extra warmth and protection. We took the Power Force Hoody on several hikes and out on the water for our BOTE Zeppelin Kayak Review here in Denver, and it was clutch for keeping us covered in colder temps and bright sun as well.
First and foremost, you will notice that this is a very techy-looking piece of clothing that’s not going to appeal to everyone, but it does perform exceptionally well – so if you don’t want to wear it to the bar after your hike, that’s cool, we get it. It pairs well with some of those dope Nike trail runners.
The hoody is crafted from Motiv™ single jersey fabric, providing a soft and comfortable feel against the skin and offering excellent breathability and moisture-wicking properties. The fabric’s stretchiness allows unrestricted movement, making it suitable for various activities, from hiking and climbing to skiing/boarding and backpacking. It features a close-fitting hood with a high collar that provides extra warmth and protection for your head and neck when needed. We also found it to be good protection from mosquitos, which have been extra heavy this year due to all the rain in Colorado.

If you are going on longer hikes, it’s important to note that the shoulder seams are also slightly dropped to make it more comfortable with a pack on, and the fabric features and odor-resistant treatment allow for multiple wears without smelling like a men’s locker room.
Summary
The Rab Men’s Force Hoody is a standout base layer that offers decent warmth, insane comfort, and durability for outdoor pursuits. Its superior construction, use of high-quality materials, and innovative fabric make it an excellent choice for various activities and weather conditions. Whether exploring the mountains, embarking on a backpacking trip, or simply enjoying a weekend hike, the Force Hoody will keep you comfortable and protected throughout your adventures.
