This week’s Artist of the Week series features the dynamic duo from Poland – Catz ‘n Dogz. Formed by two childhood friends who grew up during the Communist era in Poland, the inception of Catz ‘n Dogz coincided with Poland’s entrance into the EU. Their journey to international acclaim has been marked by resilience and hard work, especially given the lack of societal support for artists in Eastern Europe during their formative years. These barriers, however, have only served to emphasize the tenacity and determination of the pair who, after two decades, continues to break new ground in the global music scene.

This year, Catz ‘n Dogz celebrates their 20-year journey, including chart-topping releases and memorable performances at international venues. As part of the celebrations, they are set to release two new remix EPs, a 20 Years VA compilation, and embark on a tour. The first remix EP featuring Matisa and Maruwa dropped on May 5th. Their wide appeal is evident in their recent official remix of Shakira and Bizarrap’s ‘Bzrp 53’ and Basement Jaxx’s ‘Rock This Road’.

In addition to remixing for prominent artists like Roisin Murphy, Disclosure, LF System, and RÜFÜS, Catz ‘n Dogz also collaborate with industry heavyweights such as Gerd Janson and Solomun. Their remarkable portfolio includes four studio albums and two record labels, and they’ve also founded their own festival/events, swiftly making their mark as international names. Notably, they have just released the Andres Campo remix of ‘They Frontin’ feat Monty Luke, adding another exciting project to their impressive repertoire. Stay tuned for more on Catz ‘n Dogz, as they continue to make waves in the music industry.
