One of the industry’s fastest-rising producers, Jack Trades, is back with another single that continues his hot streak he seemingly cannot escape from (not that he would of course). The Calgary-based producer’s single, titled “Burn” is a collaboration between LA-based alt-rock artist Jakke.
The single is taken from the artist’s 6-song EP which will mark the culmination of his efforts, both in life and in the studio, which started all back in 2020 with the single “Kill Me Slowly” featuring Heather Janssen.

“Burn” takes listeners on a journey through the brooding sonic narrative that pairs vastly different sonic styles to create a juxtaposition that is greater than the sum of its parts. This emotive track paints an ethereal soundscape, depicting a fiery and feverish tryst between two individuals.
Piano progressions and crisp percussion form the backbone of the track’s narrative arc, which builds up the tension and emotion, allowing the dark and grizzled bass line to power its way underneath. The real magic of the single comes from the juxtaposition of the bright drums and sentimental pianos with this ominous bass line synth. As the two create a torrent of energy, Jakke’s vocals slowly drift on top in a listful chant that begs to be repeated.
