We love our coffee here at Magnetic, and we’re particularly fond of it with a little house music. And a bunch of other genres too, we’re not haters. The two together takes our minds off the fact that we are working 10 + hour days.

So here we sit on Tuesday morning plowing through emails, drinking our coffee and listening to a little house music courtesy of the Sydney-based Cassian and thought we’d share with you.

We discovered this amazing little brand and ran it through the testing lab (read our bellies) and it’s very complicated and would take too long to explain. It’s good, really good.

At first glance it seems like a strange premise, cold coffee concentrate. Secret Mr. Squirrel sounds like something soldiers or astronauts would have to drink.  But add two ounces or so of this stuff to some (cow, almond, soy, etc.) milk and top it off with ice (and some Kahlua) and you are in business.

So if you can get your hands on this black gold, go for it.  They are still pretty small so check their site; we found them randomly at a local street fair.

Oh yea, Cassian. We didn’t run into this guy at our local street fair. He did, though, drop a very nice house EP via Nervous Records’ offshoot, Nurvous. “The Love Cuts” EP came out in June and is definitely worthy of your attention should you fancy retro synth meets modern house music. Have a listen for yourself. We’re also very much into his remix of “Night And Day” by Hot Chip. And since we’re sharing, here’s a free download of his 7th installment of his mix series. BTW, we recently caught up with Cassian and tossed out a few questions to him. Our interview will be up later this week so stay tuned.
