Roland has introduced ZENOLOGY GX, the newest evolution of its ZEN-Core Synthesis System for DAWs. The virtual instrument is powered by the same sound engine found in hardware flagships such as FANTOM and JUPITER-X and is now integrated directly into GALAXIAS, creating a unified environment that bridges classic synthesis and modern production. With a redesigned interface, optimized load times, and a massive sound library, ZENOLOGY GX provides producers and composers with an expansive platform for creative sound design.
ZENOLOGY GX delivers access to more than 11,000 meticulously designed Roland sounds spanning genres from vintage analog tones to modern electronic textures. Users can layer up to four independent sound engines per Scene, each equipped with its own effects, arpeggiator, and chord generator.
The new macro system introduces 16 LFO-automatable controls for expressive real-time manipulation, giving users hands-on control over evolving tones and performance dynamics.
A Platform for Deep Sound Design

For sound designers, ZENOLOGY GX is built for depth and flexibility. It includes 23 oscillator and filter models, over 7,000 PCM waveforms, and 11 LFO shapes, including a Step LFO offering 37 distinct curves per step. Each layer supports its own multi-effects section, featuring more than 90 professional-grade effects such as the JUNO-106 chorus, Dimension D, DJ-FX Looper, and high-end reverbs derived from Roland’s most iconic processors.
The interface has been rebuilt from the ground up for speed and ease of use. Its modern visual layout allows quick sound browsing, layering, and editing without interrupting the creative flow. Users can create entirely new patches or modify existing ones, then export them to ZENOLOGY Pro and compatible ZEN-Core hardware instruments like the FANTOM, JUPITER-X, JUNO-X, RD-88, MC-707, and MC-101 for a seamless hybrid workflow between software and hardware environments.
A Bridge Between Hardware and Software

ZENOLOGY GX continues Roland’s long-term effort to merge the strengths of its hardware instruments with the adaptability of in-the-box production. Integrated directly into GALAXIAS version 1.8 or later, it provides a single, cohesive platform for sound creation, performance, and management across the entire ZEN-Core ecosystem. With its mix of heritage tones and forward-looking tools, ZENOLOGY GX represents Roland’s most versatile approach yet to hybrid synthesis.
