Ableton has announced a new way for producers to access its flagship music production software. Live 12 Suite is now available on a rent-to-own plan, giving music makers a flexible path to ownership without the upfront cost.

A New Payment Option For Producers

Instead of paying the full retail price, users can now spread the cost of Live 12 Suite across 24 monthly payments. The price is set at 31.21 USD, 24.96 EUR, or 22.46 GBP per month with no additional fees. For students and educators, an EDU license can be completed in 12 monthly payments at nearly the same rate.

Unlike subscription models, the rent-to-own structure ensures that after all payments are made, the license is fully owned. This gives producers the benefits of flexible payments without worrying about losing access once they’ve paid in full.

Flexible Terms And Upgrade Options

The plan has been designed with flexibility in mind. Payments can be paused at any time with no penalties, and users will keep access to the software until the end of their current billing cycle. For those who want to finish early, the balance can be paid off in full at any point.

If a new version of Live is released during the rent-to-own term, users will have the option to extend their monthly payments to cover the upgrade. This keeps the plan relevant for long-term users who want to stay current without large, unexpected costs.

How To Get Started

Live 12 Suite rent-to-own is available directly through the Ableton webshop. Once enrolled, users can manage their plan, track their remaining balance, and access download links from their account dashboard.

The pricing breakdown is as follows:

  • 24 monthly payments of 31.21 USD / 24.96 EUR / 22.46 GBP for a standard license
  • 12 monthly payments of 31.17 USD / 24.92 EUR / 22.42 GBP for an EDU license
