One of NYC’s finest DJs, Tedd Patterson, is back with his first artist release (and second overall) of 2025: the sublime and emotionally charged “Do It Again“, featuring powerhouse vocalist Joi Cardwell. Dropping May 2 via SoSure Music, the track is another bold declaration of Tedd’s devotion to classic vocal house, delivered with the flair and finesse that has become his signature. It’s a record that pulses with authenticity, groove, and unmistakable NYC soul that belongs at the center of any major dance floor.
“Joi has been a friend for years, we adore one another. We’re family,” says Patterson. Their chemistry is evident from the first note, with Joi’s stirring vocals elevating the track into instant classic territory. Patterson speaks reverently of their connection, first as a fan – drawn in by her iconic vocals on classics like “Club Lonely” (which Patterson cites as what may be his all time favorite club record) and “Music Saved My Life” – and now as collaborators.
With deep roots in the NYC house scene scene, Patterson’s résumé is a who’s who of house history, including his legendary 13-year residency at Cielo, appearances at The Magic Sessions alongside Louie Vega and Tony Humphries, and regular sets at Berlin’s Panorama Bar and NYC’s infamous Battle Hymn.
It’s been a great year for the NYC institution already. “Do It Again” arrives after collaborations with Inaya Day and The Illustrious Blacks. He is showing no signs of stopping: an international tour is in the works, and there are rumblings of a potential album on the horizon.
Full of feeling and life, “Do It Again” is a triumph, and we’re ecstatic to see what Tedd Patterson does next. Grab a listen at the link below!
