Keinemusik’s “One And Only” collaboration with Reznik and Good Guy Mikesh was absolutely a highlight this past month. As were a couple of a long-players. Including, All Day I Dream’s 12-track Spring Sampler and Riva Starr’s Keep Me On The Dancefloor LP. His first on Snatch! since 2013.
Check out all of the house tracks to chart so far this year:
1. “ONE AND ONLY (CLUB MIX)” – GOOD GUY MIKESH, KEINEMUSIK, REZNIK [KEINEMUSIK]
“‘One and Only (Original)’ is a very emotive piece that we realised would rather go into song than track-territory, but we figured there’s quite a few elements in it that would work well in a more club oriented production, so we started to shape it into a club edit. We failed miserably to incorporate Mikesh’s vocals, which is a real bummer, as they are so beautiful. And generally speaking we derailed a bit on this, so there’s actually not too many similarities between both cuts anymore. But we haven’t given up yet on doing a club version containing the original’s vocals. So maybe that’s the dub for now. We had a bit of a Lil’ Louis French Kiss moment when recording the bass line for the club mix.” -Reznik
2. “VOYAGE AUSTRAL” – POLE FOLDER, GMJ, MATTER [ALL DAY I DREAM]
“Voyage Austral” is a vivid, three-way collaboration between Brussels-based, Pole Folder, and Australian producers, GMJ and Matter.
3. “SET THE MOOD RIGHT” – RIVA STARR, HARRY STONE [SNATCH! RECORDS]
Keep Me On The Dancefloor‘s third track with Harry Stone is a warm and wonky affair that does indeed set the mood right.
4. “(I’LL BE YOUR) PARADISE” – RIVA STARR, NIC HANSON [SNATCH! RECORDS]
Fabulous, falsetto vocals from Nic Hanson feature on “(I’ll Be Your) Paradise.”
5. “HOUSE OF MIRRORS” – RIVA STARR, HARRY STONE [SNATCH! RECORDS]
Keep Me On The Dancefloor opens with Harry Stone’s “House Of Mirrors.” An outstanding collaboration that sees Riva Starr embracing organic elements rarely seen in the majority of his singles. A refreshing and imaginative effort that is absolutely sublime.
6. “I WAS LOST (AND I FOUND YOU)” – RIVA STARR, CHROMEO [SNATCH! RECORDS]
Electro-funk duo Chromeo made their mark on Riva Starr’s new L.P. as well with the irresistibly groovy “I Was Lost”
7. “MAKE ME WEAK” – FERRECK DAWN FEAT. CAROLINE BYRNE [DEFECTED]
Defected favorite, Ferreck Dawn is back on the label with this classy house gem that features sensual, breathy vocal work from Caroline Byrne. Play it and share it.
8. “THE ONE” – CHLOÉ CAILLET & LUKE ALESSI FT. JOCELYN BROWN [DISORDER]
Sitting at the top of the Beatport chart at this very moment is this 2025 dedication to the euro-house of yesteryear; courtesy of two that are making dance music fun again.
9. “BLOCK PARTY (BARON REMIX)” – AFRICANISM PRESENTS DJ GREGORY [YELLOW PRODUCTIONS]
First sampled by DJ Gregory 25 years ago, the horn section of Milton Hamilton’s “So Beautiful” lives on in 2025 thanks to a great, percussive remix by French remixer, Baron.
10. “GOT THE FUNK” – LOW STEPPA & CAPRI [DEFECTED]
Low Steppa & Capri’s “Got The Funk” is 21st century filter house that rivals some of the best ones which dropped shortly after the turn of the century.
11. “SKILL OF LOVE” – ALEX WANN, SHIMZA [HELIX RECORDS]
Dropped during their iconic back-to-back set at Miami Music Week and to a receptive crowd at the pyramids of Giza recently, Alex Wann and Shimza’s “Skill Of Love” weaves boundless layers of emotion and tension into their infectious, afro-tech sound.
12. “DO ME RIGHT (CRACKAZAT EXTENDED REMIX)” – BEN WESTBEECH, DAMES BROWN, RAHH [GLITTERBOX RECORDINGS]
Ben Westbeech‘s upcoming L.P. on Glitterbox features this proper chunk of house music that includes a remix by none other than Crackazat.
13. “DON’T STOP” – PROSPA [CIRCOLOCO RECORDS]
Masters of flipping huge vocals into house anthems, ‘Don’t Stop’ is built around the iconic “don’t stop, get it, get it” hook from Somethin’ for The People’s 1997 R&B hit, ‘My Love Is the Shhh!.’
14. “IN MY HEAD” – CHRIS LAKE X AMBER MARK [BLACK BOOK RECORDS]
Chris Lake‘s head-turning, “In My Head” first saw the light of day over a year ago at his Hollywood Blvd rave with Fisher.
15. “THE NIGHT TRAIN” – DAVID PENN & CRUSY FEAT. KADOC [ALTRA MODA]
James Brown’s “Night Train” sample took on a life of its own ages ago. Especially, when the ’90s dance music outfit, Kadoc took it to the next level back in ’95. Here it is 30 years later in a much groovier form thanks to a new school talent known mononymously as Crusy.
