RESISTANCE Miami returned to M2 this past Saturday night, bringing an electrifying night of underground sounds with Dutch techno legend Joris Voorn headlining and support from rising talent Kasia. Held in the heart of South Beach, the venue’s cutting-edge production and immersive experience set the perfect stage for a night filled with spine-tingling basslines and hypnotic visuals.

Arriving at midnight, we unfortunately missed an undoubtedly solid opening set from Miami’s own m.O.N.R.O.E., but walked in just in time to catch Kasia. She immediately commanded the room with her driving and upbeat techno basslines, delivering a seamless mix of chart-topping hits and underground gems that had the crowd roaring. Her set was relentless, with fast-paced transitions that perfectly primed the audience for the deeper and more progressive journey that Joris Voorn would later provide.

Kasia’s all-black techno fit, complete with sleek sunglasses, reflected the no-nonsense energy she brought to the decks. As green lasers cut through the thick haze from the smoke machines, futuristic robotic sounds intertwined with her pounding selections, creating an atmosphere that felt both cinematic and raw.

When Joris Voorn took over, the energy in M2 shifted. He opened with a tribal chanting-heavy buildup that led into a percussion-packed drop, setting the tone for the journey ahead.

Over the course of his three-hour set, Voorn masterfully blended house and techno, weaving in breathtaking remixes, iconic anthems from his catalog like “You & I,” and a slew of ground-shaking unreleased IDs. His ability to navigate between emotive melodies and pounding rhythms kept the crowd hooked from start to finish.

One of the standout moments of the night came when Voorn dropped “Bad Boy” by breakout artist Linska, a track that sent the energy soaring to new heights. It was clear that every element of his set was meticulously crafted, ensuring an unforgettable experience for everyone on the dancefloor.

Adding to the immersive experience, the RESISTANCE dancers captivated the crowd with their fluid and synchronized movements. Adorned in shimmering green bodysuits and black thigh-high boots, they embodied the intoxicating energy that resonated through the venue. As always, the visual and audio production were top-tier, transforming M2 into an otherworldly rave sanctuary.

As RESISTANCE Miami continues to build momentum leading up to Ultra Music Festival’s 25th anniversary, anticipation is at an all-time high. Up next, the legendary Stephan Bodzin will take over M2 this Saturday, followed by Brazilian powerhouse Vintage Culture on February 22nd, ensuring more unforgettable nights for Miami’s underground music lovers. You can grab tickets for both shows here.

Raised in upstate New York, I was always a big fan of music but never really listened to electronic music. Within the first month of attending Florida State University and meeting some new friends, I was introduced to the rave scene. After seeing Ekali at my first show, I was instantly hooked. Since then, I have dived into every subgenre of electronic music, picked up DJing, and mixed for clubs and different entertainment events in Tallahassee. Once graduating with degrees in marketing and hospitality, I was hired for a sales position. However, I recently decided to leave my sales job to pursue my dream of working in the music industry. Currently, I run Magnetic Magazine's Melodic Techno Charts, along with my role as a PR and marketing specialist for different artists and labels. Some of my favorite artists are REZZ, Kyle Watson, TOBEHONEST, San Pacho, Josh Baker, HUGEL, ARTBAT, Vintage Culture, Ganja White Night, CamelPhat, Green Velvet, Jungle, Milky Chance, Paco Versailles, Franc Moody, and RÜFUS DU SOL. My favorite festivals are Hulaween (by far), EDC Orlando, and all the different venues during Miami Music Week. Outside of music, I love sports (especially hockey, soccer, tennis, basketball, and spike ball), going to the movies, working out, sushi, Chick-fil-A, food in general, and hanging with my dog Maui and my cat Loki. Feel free to reach out to me via my email or on IG, I love expanding my network of friends and business opportunities!
