On October 11th, The Magic Sun label dropped something out of the ordinary with ÜNAM’s Alchemy. This was more than a typical EP release; it was an experience designed to be heard, seen, and even worn, as ÜNAM collaborated with bejoy—a jewelry brand founded by artist Mia Main. Together, they aimed to push the boundaries of creativity, merging the auditory and the tangible.

The Concept: Where Music Met Jewelry

The spark for Alchemy came from Mia Main, who brought the idea to ÜNAM as a way to bridge their two art forms. Working together, they split the project into two teams, each led by one of them, with ÜNAM creating an original track and Mia designing a jewelry piece that captures the spirit of alchemy. From there, it was all about letting other artists make it their own: 13 artists were given the core track or jewelry piece as inspiration, along with an assigned element—fire, water, air, earth, or quintessence—and asked to reimagine it through their own lens.

Each jewelry piece was crafted to represent its assigned element, complete with QR codes that link directly to the remixes on Spotify. So, by scanning a piece, listeners were taken straight into the sound that inspired it. This setup took Alchemy from being a simple release to an experience that fully connected the material and musical worlds.

ÜNAM’s Track and the Remix Team

At the heart of it, ÜNAM’s original track set a solid tone—groovy rhythms and organic textures, providing the foundation for each remixer to build on. And the lineup brought some serious range, with each artist adding their own style to create a release that feels cohesive but varied enough to keep listeners hooked:

Carla Valenti: Valenti rounded it out with a mix of tribal, techno, and Afro-inspired rhythms, giving the EP a powerful and grounded close.

Wild Dark and Ariaano: New York’s Negrin brothers teamed up with Netherlands’ Ariaano, leaning into driving rhythms with a fusion of influences that made their remix hit hard.

Seba Campos: Known for weaving his South American roots into his music, Campos brought a blend of organic textures and electronic beats. He’s been putting out music through labels like Sony Music Spain, and his style suits both intimate underground venues and big festival settings.

Bohem: Ibiza’s Bohem layered hypnotic, late-night vibes into his remix, capturing that meditative dancefloor feeling.

Holed Coin: With an atmospheric take that closes the EP perfectly, Spain’s Holed Coin added layers of depth and subtle tension.

Jewelry as Art, Not Ornament

In Alchemy, Mia Main’s collaboration with bejoy transcended traditional jewelry design. She created the original piece of the project to serve as inspiration for further remixes. The piece consists of three distinct levels: a silver base that serves as a container frame; a second level with a resin piece engraved with sacred geometry and the symbols of the four alchemical elements; and a third level, where gold and spirituality are symbolized within a glass bubble that, when broken, reveals a sparkling stone inside.

Jewelry Artists and Their Elements:

  • Bili Sánchez: Exploring the element of Earth, Peruvian artist Bili Sánchez created a piece inspired by the Andean symbol of Chakana, rooted in Incan geometry, which brings a natural, grounded feel.
  • Doroteya Komoshtichanova: Working with Water, Bulgarian artist Doroteya crafted her piece to capture the fluidity and movement of waves, drawing directly from nature’s flow.
  • Elisenda de Haro: Assigned the element of Gold, Elisenda represented transformation through layered textures, capturing the essence of refinement and change.
  • Fabio: Worked with the element of fire, Preserving geometric shapes and highlighting the symbol of the fire element in coexistence with the other ones. Oxidation and techniques of stone setting were applied showing excellence in craftsmanship. The curves of the bail were shaped to represent a female fluidity flowing from the source of fire, represented by the red garnet.
  • Anna Maresma Ribas: Workd with the element of air which reshapes everything it encounters. The end result was a delicate sphere that captures the feeling of change and impermanence that is both subtle and powerful.

Bringing Sound and Material Together

In Alchemy, ÜNAM and bejoy delivered an experience that went beyond just listening. They made it something you could hold, see, and interact with, creating a whole new layer of connection between music and form. With plans to bring this fusion to exhibitions around the globe, Alchemy is set to reach more fans and art lovers who are looking for something different.

It’s not often you see projects like this—where electronic music meets visual art so directly. For ÜNAM and bejoy’s audiences, Alchemy offered a unique way to engage, letting them feel the music and art in a more intimate, meaningful way.
