You might think that writing and recording a full EP with your other half, might be daunting and stress-enducing process, but songwriter-producers Tentendo and Annalisa Fernandez have created an EP that makes it seem like a breeze. The new EP “Morning Light” is full of soulful, funk-rich bliss that develops as the project goes on. It’s an EP that represents a departure from both artists’ typical sound, with Tentendo being known for a more electronic house sound on previous EP “Player One”. The producer explains that “if I saw this EP as a colour, it would be sunset orange. We want to uplift people, we want people to dance, have fun and be free. Even if we wrote these songs from our own experiences and ideas, we want people to connect to the record in their own way.” Through this project we hear live recorded funk-bass, live instrumentation and of course the lush vocals of Annalisa throughout.

“Find My Way” entrances with its soulful-dreamy blend supported by rhythmic basslines. “Morning Light” adds a touch of disco allure while retaining its soulful core. Notably departing from electronic origins, Tentendo weaves themes of growth and connectivity in tracks conceived organically at home. “Shining” showcases opulent strings, harmonies, and funky basslines, radiating a sun-soaked aura. The EP encapsulates the duo’s musical and romantic synergy, culminating in the finale, “Give It Up.” A track that showcases the higher tempo, garage-influenced electronic production Tentendo has become synonymous with.
