On July 7th, Golden Features released his second album entitled “Sisyphus,” with Foreign Family Collective. We caught up with ODESZA collaborator ( together as BRONSON) on the Chicago stop of the tour.

Drawing inspiration from his Greek heritage and Greek mythology, “Sisyphus” – who was punished by Hades for cheating death twice by rolling a boulder up a hill only for it to roll back down every time he reached the top, Golden Features channels the “mental struggles and creative anguish” he felt through this deeply personal album.
Reflecting on his time playing underground electronic music across the globe, “Sisyphus” encapsulates the feeling of being in a sweaty, intimately pulsating club as club-goers dance in sync to the “hypnotic basslines and transcendent melodies” he’s become notorious for producing.
It seemed only appropriate for Golden Features to play newly minted underground music venue and cocktail bar by the good folks who produce Arc Music Festival, Smoke and Mirrors, on his Chicago stop of the tour.

Alex O’Rion is continuing the new releases with “Sericum” on Meanwhile providing a smooth-roasted bass groove sits below deep kick and cavernous sub-bass pattern. A shuffling hi-hat top line provides subtle urgency as a mellifluous synth line flows like honey as the track reaches its mid-point. A reverb-soaked lead line adds harmonic variation as a vibrant breakdown creates the perfect moment of reflection. The rhythmic melange once again hits its mark again in the second half, accompanied by the array of opulent melodic elements introduced earlier in the piece.
Late Night Music welcomes back Russian producer Ewan Rill, for his second solo EP for the label featuring two exceptional progressive house cuts. The title track “Alley Of Protons” combines warm pads with just a hint of early 80s synth work.
The Canadian producer Dowden and English producer Essco join forces and talent in their new 3 track EP including “Middle Earth”, with a deep, yet charging energy, full of melodic atmospheres, hypnotic sequences and solid beats, and all with a subtle tone of darkness and mystery.
Polyptych happily welcomes another representative of atmospheric sound from Argentina. Hernan Martinez comes to us with the new track “Spyralis” after releases on labels like Balkan Connection, Stellar Fountain, Future Avenue, and more. The EP consists of 3 tracks filled with an atmospheric progressive house vibe and some organic house elements, but at the same time, the tracks do not exclude emotionality and slightly exciting harmonies.
The latest release on Madloch’s 3rd Avenue imprint welcomes Analog Jungs back to the label with a remix EP for their previously released track “Uritorco”. Analog Jungs is a musical project from Córdoba, Argentina founded by Claudio Cornejo and Gustavo Ruarte. They recently released music on labels such as Mango Alley, Meanwhile, Songspire and The Soundgarden. Here we spotlight the excellent remix work from Figueras.
Arcedian’s next release was thought in a different way, David Podhel and label’s head honcho Jero Nougues thought about re-imagining each other’s tracks and it turned out to be a really different experience, resulting in a 4-tracker EP filled with groove and aggressive melodic elements including Jero’s original “Infinity Sequence”.
Hailing from Bonn, Germany – Jonathan Kaspar is an integral part of the scene in Cologne. With a range in styles in sound his latest release on Crosstown Rebels shows his diversity once again with the feature track “Overfree” giving some spacey, yet moving melodic techno vibes that fit perfectly in a set.
The end of summer is the season when the Munich-based label Plattenbank reveals its secrets. The Secrets is the name of the labels bestselling series. The eighth edition of the Secrets compiled by the award-winning producer Guy Mantzur once again keeps the cutting-edge music selection by exceptional international artists. The new selection manages to find the balance between pushing the boundaries of current trends and keeping the recognizable character of the series. The original “Solemnis” from Cream (PL) is a stand out favorite on the release. This is your chance to enjoy the latest achievements in both art and technology.
GMJ joins fellow Australian Jamie Stevens for an exceptional two-track EP that should appeal to a wide-ranging slice of dance music fans. If you’re after a mature electronic music release that knows how to hit the emotional core then you will be in for an absolute treat with our favorite on the release entitled “Force Of Nature”.
The latest release on 3rd Avenue welcomes Sudnode back to the label with three remixes for his previously released track “Levels”. Forty Cats takes things deep yet driving with an excellent remix!
