Lastlings, the Australian-Japanese brother/sister duo comprised of Joshua and Amy Dowdle, have released ‘Out My Head,’ the fourth single from their next album Perfect World, due to release June 23rd via RÜFÜS DU SOL’s Rose Avenue Records. The track features evocative pads and confident basslines dancing around thoughtful lyrics and smooth but groovy drums.
Breaking out with their moody track ‘Deja Vu,’ Lastlings quickly attracted a crowd with their signature synths and Amy Dowdle’s captivating vocals. Following up on a release hiatus after their last and debut album ‘First Contact,’ the duo are not taking any shortcuts. Even with only four songs released so far, we know this album will take inspiration from a wide array of genres, as heard through the breaks of ‘Holding Me Like Water,’ shifting to the melodic house soundscapes of ‘Noise.’ The duo have earned support and recognition from Australia’s national broadcaster, Tripple J, on both their past and upcoming records.
On top of the new music, Lastlings have also announced both Australian and North American tours, with the latter due to feature support from Running Touch.
