Ableton announces the release of its hardware instrument’s latest version of Push, offering a seamless experience for playing, producing, and performing music. The new Push is designed to eliminate distractions and can be used as a standalone instrument or with a computer. It features upgradeable components, ensuring an extended lifespan as the centerpiece of your studio.

Expressiveness is a key highlight of the new Push, with its 64 MPE-capable pads that accurately detect finger pressure and placement across X and Y axes. This allows for nuanced per-note control, enabling musicians to perform bends, slides, filter adjustments, and other articulations within a chord or even a single pad.

The enhanced connectivity of Push opens up a world of possibilities for musicians. It includes a built-in audio interface, enabling direct recording of external instruments, synths, and effects into your Push set or Ableton Live. Additionally, it supports the integration of gate and CV signals for a combined Eurorack/Push setup or compatibility with class-compliant MIDI gear.

With standalone playability, Push can operate independently without needing a computer, making it ideal for a laptop-free music setup. It boasts a built-in battery and storage, allowing musicians to create music without connecting a single cable. Users can leverage the familiar instruments, effects, Packs, and sample libraries from Ableton Live and transfer sets wirelessly between Push and Live via WiFi.

Ableton offers two configurations of Push to accommodate different needs and budgets. The standalone version of Push includes a processor and functions as a self-contained instrument, while the computer-dependent version requires a connection to a computer. However, users can later add a processor themselves using the Upgrade Kit. Moreover, Ableton has made it possible to replace the processor, hard drive, and battery, ensuring the instrument remains up-to-date with future technological advancements.

Push is available now through Ableton.com, with the standalone version priced at USD 1999 / EUR 1899 and the computer-dependent version at USD 999 / EUR 949. Upgrade Kits will be released in late 2023 and will cost USD 1049 / EUR 999.
