RemK launches Season 2 of MONTA with ‘6am Bounce,’ a track carried by a blistering trap lead and quintessential bass line that turns dance floors upside. For the song’s vision, RemK told Magnetic Mag that “the story I want the listeners to experience is that you’re out early in the morning in California driving or skating, cruising alone while blasting music in your headphones, with not a care in the world.”
He said that the song came together pretty organically one morning, around 6AM. “When I wrote this track, I had just woken up early at 6am and got inspired to make something new. At the time, I was just throwing random stuff at the wall and exported it as a 6am bounce not thinking much of it, but it quickly became one of my favorite tracks after listening the next few days.”
The story of 6am Bounce is a reminder for producers that a demo you initially didn’t think much of might be a hit with your friends and fans, as was true in this song’s case, “I had created the intro and first drop during that first session at 6am. At the time, I didn’t think the song was much. Just was another idea I made that I kept on my exports folder. But as soon as I showed it to my friends and got feedback from people, I knew I was onto something special.”
The song utilizes infamous rave stabs heard across all corners of electronic music. From a creative perspective, RemK said that the “one plugin that really helped the song come together and fill up certain gaps was Rave Generator. I used this plugin to create the rave stabs and other rave sounds in the song and I think that really helped add to the vibe I was going for.”

From there, it was a matter of getting the song right, and the arrangement and mixdown were the two areas that took the most time to execute. RemK added, “I would say the most challenging part to get right on this song was either the arrangement, or mixdown. They were both tough and took some time to get right. I wanted to make sure the song was very DJ friendly and had something for everybody. It was originally an all trap song, but then I decided to add the 4 on the floor drop to add some variety.”
As for what’s next for RemK, “There’s a lot of things that are coming up that I’m very excited for. Playing a lot of my dream festivals this year and there’s a few that I honestly can’t believe I’m playing. I’m super grateful for all these opportunities. I have a lot of music in the works so expect a bunch of new music this year as well.”
