Sounds Over Seas (and its head honcho) is marking a milestone moment with the release of its very first full-length LP: “Directions” from label founder Julian Bainbridge.
Known for his deep understanding of groove and atmosphere, Bainbridge channels the roots of deep house while stretching its emotional and sonic boundaries. Across nine immersive tracks, he explores the genre’s timeless essence (rhythm, melody, and feeling) while infusing it with a modern, exploratory spirit.
“Directions” moves fluidly through textures and moods: jazzy inflections brush against minimalistic beats, haunting melodies linger in the mix, and global soundscapes add warmth and depth. Each track feels connected to a shared pulse, designed as much for introspection as for movement. Bainbridge’s approach remains raw, creating an album that invites both dance and deep listening.
To celebrate this release, Sounds Over Seas hosted an intimate pre-release live listening party on October 29th at 8:30pm CET. Listeners from around the world joined for a shared musical experience: a chance to hear the record together, ask questions directly, and connect with Bainbridge about his creative process.
