What began as a 75 minute journey to Exposition Park, ended with a full, five-hour dance with house music’s newest superstars, Keinemusik. The German trio who have been dabbling in production assignments for pop stars like Drake and Dua Lipa. Never mind that though, the threesome has spent the last fifteen years earning their underground credibility through their very exclusive label. Fast-forward to 2024, and the guys are playing a sold-out, 10,000 capacity gig adjacent to the L.A. Coliseum which allegedly sold out in thirty minutes. It’s fair to say, the secret is out.

After forking over Disneyland priced parking, and jetting down a long and winding dirt path, I had entered the venue just as the sun fell. Brisk in temperature but bundled and ready, I was already overlooking a sea of people that easily hit the thousands. Adam Port, &ME, and Rampa were right on time for their five-hour set as their fabled, “Peace Kloud” hung above.

Three-hundred minutes of blissed-out, afro house followed. Some old and some new, but for the most part, current fan favorites soundtracked the headlining set. “Born In Blue,” by Chambord, “Famax” by Raffa Guido, and “Baião Destemperado” by Maz are just a few of the highlights. Not to mention, the crew dropped a few of their own to showcase their own production skills. Including, “Les Gout,” “Thandazza,” and of course, the absolute apex of their set, their dazzling remix of Moderat’s “More Love.” Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” followed and closed the night in sophisticated fashion.

Some argued that Keinemusik navigated the night without any peaks and valleys by simply following a linear road with pretty melodies and pop hooks. And while they may be right to a certain degree, the road they travel is the scenic route where hypnotic, tribal rhythms are central to their ethos and everything else that fits in with it produces the vibe that they carefully curate.

Catch them in a town near you as they tour the world throughout the rest of 2024:
