Welcome to our monthly chart, where we identify and break down the top 15 bass music anthems.
February’s selection encompasses a ton of Lost Lands headliners and underground artists, reflecting experimental bass, wubs, dubstep, trap, riddim, and everything in between. Enter the realm of sonic experimentation as we shed light on various bass-powered anthems and their creators.

Huck.Jorris – Promise (Saturna Remix) [Self Release]
Open your third eye with this psychoactive remix. Saturna urges listeners to reach deep inside their souls and embark on an alluring journey through experimental bass. In this rendition of Huck.Jorris’s “Promise,” there is an intricate blend of organic sounds with low-end, gritty, trap-bass production. From the brilliant mind of Dez Baker, Saturna is not only a one-of-a-kind artist, but also a proud member of Vancouver’s Wildlife Division. This collective forges forward-thinking releases and live events.
Zingara, Hallucinate, Nat James – Manifest [Self Release]
Zingara has had a historic rise to the throne of bass music. Reinstating the powerful nature of hard-hitting wubs, “Manifest” bridges intense rap from UK vocalist Nat James and the unique sound design of Zingara and Hallucinate. The bass queen is back and better than ever in this electrifying collaboration, begging its audience to let their ‘spirit manifest.’
Kaivon – Life [Self Release]
Since bursting onto the electronic music circuit in 2016 with his groundbreaking anthem “Reborn.” Kavion has become an icon in the space of sonic experimentation. Beyond hits like “First Breath” and “Heartbeat,” his wide catalog of gripping original tracks is unparalleled. Following up his 2022 debut album, Awakening, Kaivon’s sophomore album Ultraviolet is a masterpiece. A future bass and trap hybrid, “Life” represents the beauty and mesmerizing quality that this compilation embraces, while embodying in Kaivon’s extraordinary production.
Mersiv, Seth David – Jump [MorFlo Records]
The lead banger in Throw Down, Vol. 1, Mersiv and Seth Davis set the stage for the barrage of bass music that proceeds it. This 13-track compilation pairs together a mix of established and up-and-coming artists across bass music, with appearances from Jaenga, Aweminus, Flozone, Heyz, and XaeboR. Mersiv, the labelboss of MorfFlo Records, which this project is released on, exceeds expectations in “Jump.” It kicks off with an eccentric vocal sample before delving into rail-clutching dubstep.
SunSquabi – Rain Shadow [Self Release]
SunSquabi ignites funkadelic revolutions with their signature live electronica sound, inspiring dance-fueled action in listeners worldwide. Comprised of Kevin Donohue, Josh Fairman, and Chris Anderson, this trio amassed tens of millions of streams and electrified venues like Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Propelling us to empowerment through the unifying power of music, “Rain Shadow” is the optimal representation of the talented electro-jam-band behind it.
Subtronics, Ronzo – Afternoon Coffee (Slide) [Cyclops Recordings]
Turning up the heat, Subtronics set the world of bass music on fire with his album, TESSERACT, which dropped mid-February. In Subtronics fashion, the LP is packed with riddim that will make its audience want to dive head first into a moshpit. “Afternoon Coffee (Slide)” stands out due to its ability to stray away from Subtronics’ usual sound and throw perfectly engineered wubs in the face of listeners. The cherry on top is the lyrical genius of North London-based Ronzo, who is taking the world by storm with his pioneering style of lofi drill.
Call Me Sleeper – PERPETUA [Self Release]
Arguably the heaviest track out of this month’s selection, “PERPETUA” is the by-product of Fred H, aka Call Me Sleeper. This Swedish genre-defying producer specializes in heavy dissonant tones, evident throughout his new anthem. “PERPETUA” is dark and haunting, sending its audience to a sonic void they will not want to escape from. It is an explosive collision of synthwave, trap, and dubstep.
Skysia – Falling [Odyzey Music]
With a musical journey just as intriguing as his sets and production, Skysia’s backstory is truly one-of-a-kind. This inspirational artist recently shared his ‘Top 10 Tips For Van Life As A Producer, DJ, And Overall Artist,’ highlighting how he pioneered his sound and brought his project cross-country on wheels. “Falling” is one of four spellbinding tracks from Skysia’s Overture EP, defying the limits of sound design.
Space Wizard – One Way Down [Self Release]
As his Spotify bio only contains the two words, “dubstep guy,” Space Wizard has proved to be much more over the span of his impressive music career. “One Way Down” builds on his legacy, going into the abyss of driving bass and dubstep. It tosses in vocal samples that will catch you off guard, while delivering earth-quaking sequences of riddim.
Ahee, ProbCause – Rainbow Funk [Jadu Dala]
Ahee is an admired DJ, producer, artist, and YouTube personality known for his production tutorials, podcast interviews, and livestreams. Additionally, he has been privy to executing thrilling performances, which will be witness throughout his current Brain Tickler Tour. A guiding light for aspiring producers, Ahee linked up with lyricist ProbCause on “Rainbow Funk,” emitting a groovy fusion of hip hop and wubs, reminiscent of GRiZ’s trailblazing album, Rainbow Brain.
FLY – Lucid Dream [Memory Palace]
Memory Palace is a label that is frequently seen pushing the boundaries of electronic music. The imprint hosts genre-bending artist FLY to accomplish this feat once again in “Lucid Dream.” This new tune from FLY is exactly as its title describes. Overflowing with intricate layers of sound and dreamy effects, “Lucid Dream” evokes introspection and soul-searching. It radiates a vibe full of relaxation and raw sentiment.
Manic Focus, Michal Menert – Brighter Tomorrow [Self Release]
Dropping his 10th album, Never Not Blue, last year, Manic Focus will go down in the annals of musical history. In a space relative to SunSquabi, the Denver-based artists welds funk, hip-hop, electro-soul, jazz, and more in each of his tracks. Likewise, Michal Menert is the optimal counterpart to this collaboration. Great for a long car ride, hiking, or any outdoor activity for that matter, it is impossible to listen to “Brighter Tomorrow” without feeling a boost of euphoria and positive energy.
INZO, ILLUSIO – Just A Mirage [Lowly]
With his main purpose being to “make something beautiful,” INZO has exemplified time and time again that he is a generational artist. Uniting with ILLUSIO, “Just A Mirage” is an unforgettable sonic experience. The fusion of future bass, powerful tones, and natural soundscapes paints a different picture in each listener’s head.
EAZYBAKED – Rollin’ Deep [HypnoVizion Records]
Forged from a lifelong friendship between Eric Ray and Andrew Principe, EAZYBAKED offers a fresh take on bass music, inspired by acts like Flume, Mr. Carmack, and Tsuruda. With roots in America’s grassroots scene, this duo has seized control of audiences at Red Rocks and festivals like EDC Orlando throught their head-banding tracks. The latest installment of their underground bass sound is “Rollin’ Deep,” a lethal mixture of gritty wubs and infectious rap verses.
Shanghai Doom, DAIZY – Facedropper [MorFlo Records]
Rounding out February’s selection is another gem from MorFlo Records’ Throw Down, Vol. 1, a jaw-dropping collaboration between Shanghai Doom and DAIZY. “Facedropper” will leave festival and club crowds stunned, turning to their friends to ask them to describe the sonic distortion that was just thrown their way. Sprinkling water drips and vocal chops into a heavy progression of dubstep, “Facedropper” is a heater that you will want to leave on repeat.

Raised in upstate New York, I was always a big fan of music but never really listened to electronic music. Within the first month of attending Florida State University and meeting some new friends, I was introduced to the rave scene. After seeing Ekali at my first show, I was instantly hooked. Since then, I have dived into every subgenre of electronic music, picked up DJing, and mixed for clubs and different entertainment events in Tallahassee. Once graduating with degrees in marketing and hospitality, I was hired for a sales position. However, I recently decided to leave my sales job to pursue my dream of working in the music industry. Currently, I run Magnetic Magazine's Melodic Techno Charts, along with my role as a PR and marketing specialist for different artists and labels. Some of my favorite artists are REZZ, Kyle Watson, TOBEHONEST, San Pacho, Josh Baker, HUGEL, ARTBAT, Vintage Culture, Ganja White Night, CamelPhat, Green Velvet, Jungle, Milky Chance, Paco Versailles, Franc Moody, and RÜFUS DU SOL. My favorite festivals are Hulaween (by far), EDC Orlando, and all the different venues during Miami Music Week. Outside of music, I love sports (especially hockey, soccer, tennis, basketball, and spike ball), going to the movies, working out, sushi, Chick-fil-A, food in general, and hanging with my dog Maui and my cat Loki. Feel free to reach out to me via my email or on IG, I love expanding my network of friends and business opportunities!
