Denver-based Lane 8 has released a new single called ‘Rave,’ via his label, This Never Happened. It has been an ID on his Spring Mixtape since March and is now fully released.
This track combines the driving rhythms of his traditional (and now iconic) melodic house sounds and his newer, retro-inspired synth leads, making it the perfect track for setting your summer adventures off to the right start. Lane 8 shifted to a newer sound in 2022 with his album, ‘Reviver’ which has been a success, landing him a number of major festival spots.

This newer sound draws upon his previous productions but advances his music into a groovier and more energetic style. Lane 8 always succeeds at combining many different juxtaposing elements that enable what might otherwise be a relatively repetitive track to stand out amongst the all-too-common six-minute repetition of an eight-bar loop. Being able to take one leading element and make it enticing over an entire song without having to lose track of that main element is part of what makes this track stand out.
‘Rave’ is the type of track you could play on the mainstage of a festival, or pair to a vlog of your summer adventures, which just goes to show how impressive of a track this is. The break features a slowly evolving arp paired with a swelling lead, which ties in the emotion that Lane 8 and TNH are known for.
This track also launches This Never Happened’s new season of album artwork which features a focus on plastic pollution. More on that here.
It’s always a treat when Lane 8 or TNH drop a new release, so we’re looking forward to hearing even more and revealing additional IDs from his mixes!
