The third track to be released from Massane’s upcoming sophomore album By The River, ‘Cryo’ sees the Frenchman pair up with Grigoré, resulting in a stunning track that strays away from Massane’s calm and soft melodies and more towards Grigoré’s iconic melodic techno. Nonetheless, both still deliver immensely, with the track centering around one main arpeggio, cleverly supported and contoured by drums, bass, and other synths.

Both being This Never Happened veterans, it should come as no surprise that this collaboration would be delivered via the label. For Massane, this is a very big stray from the softer melodies he’s usually known for. Go back just one track to ‘Trust’ with Malou, the second-most-recent track to be released from By The River and you’ll be greeted with simple but warm filtered saw wave melodies. That being said, you can still taste some of Massane’s influence on this track, which compliments Grigoré’s contributions beautifully.

Based on what we’ve got so far from By The River, we’re sure it’s going to be another standout album from Massane, who has stated that this album was inspired by nature, the experiences on the dancefloor, and new horizons, lending us to believe this album will be a dynamic journey through and through. The full album will be available August 25th, and we’ll be sure to listen as soon as it’s out!
