Argentine DJ and producer Jay de Lys has made his debut on Cloonee’s Hellbent Records with In Europe, a two-track EP released October 23 that arrives at an appropriate moment in his increasingly international career. Having spent much of the summer playing across Ibiza before heading to North America for shows in Miami, Toronto, Montreal, and his first appearance at CRSSD Festival, de Lys returned to Europe for dates in Barcelona, Paris, and Amsterdam.
The new EP follows that schedule with two tech house productions built around detailed percussion, recurring vocal samples, and the kind of extended arrangements that have become central to his music.
The release also introduces another established underground producer to Hellbent Records, which has continued expanding its catalog beyond Cloonee’s own productions. Over the past several years, the label has developed an identity through direct, percussion-focused house music, emphasizing records that have already received support during DJ performances. Jay de Lys fits comfortably within that direction, having spent years releasing music through imprints such as PIV, elrow Music, Cecille, Black Book Records, and other labels associated with contemporary house music.
What makes this release particularly interesting is the relationship between the EP’s title and the touring schedule behind it. “In Europe” arrives after a year in which de Lys has spent substantial time traveling between continents, while the two records have already been incorporated into sets from Cloonee and several other established DJs.
It shows how his recording career and international performance schedule have developed alongside one another, with the new release bringing him into another network of artists and events connected to one of the more active tech house labels.
From Argentina To Ibiza And North America
Jay de Lys has built his career in underground house music for several years, initially developing his profile in Argentina before expanding into European and North American venues. His productions focus on rhythm, bass programming, and the relationship between short musical phrases and extended club arrangements, drawing on influences from several areas of house and tech house. That approach has earned him releases on international labels and an increasingly active touring calendar.
His 2026 summer included appearances at FLOW, ANTS, Eastenderz, elrow, PIV, and Cecille events in Ibiza, connecting him with several established communities operating across contemporary house music. Each offers a slightly different musical environment, from the more stripped-back arrangements of certain underground house events to the higher-energy productions regularly played at larger festival performances. Working across those settings requires a DJ to adapt their track selection while maintaining continuity with the music that originally established their identity.
Hellbent Records Continues Expanding Beyond Cloonee’s Releases
Hellbent Records has become an established outlet for Cloonee’s music while developing a catalog featuring other artists from the international house community. The label has continued releasing records from emerging and established producers, with its musical direction closely associated with the higher-energy, percussion-focused side of tech house.
Earlier this year, we covered Cloonee’s “XTC” on Hellbent Records, examining how the record incorporated a recurring vocal, clipped synthesizer material, and restrained rhythmic development. While that release centered on Cloonee’s own production approach, In Europe introduces another artist working within a related part of the genre.
Cloonee’s international touring career is also closely tied to the music released through Hellbent. In our previous article on “Vamos A La Playa”, we examined how the track circulated through his Ibiza sets before receiving an official release. Jay de Lys’ latest EP follows a similar process, with support from Cloonee and other touring DJs helping establish the recordings in club settings ahead of their commercial release.
For de Lys, joining Hellbent provides another opportunity to introduce his music to listeners already familiar with his work through PIV, Cecille, and other underground house labels. The relationship also places him alongside a growing group of producers who have developed their profiles through international DJ performances and the consistent release of club-oriented music.
The release also provides some indication of where his career currently stands.
His international touring schedule has continued expanding, and his 2026 releases have appeared through multiple established imprints. In Europe, those developments are connected through two new recordings that have already received DJ support, giving de Lys another opportunity to maintain his presence across the European and North American club communities.
